We have stayed here so many times in the past because of it's close proximity to Roma Termini. The room size is enough for 2 adults with even 3-4 large luggage. There should be hooks to hold coats or jacket outside the closet (nothing found at all). The bathroom is small which will be too tight for someone on the heavy side. Breakfast is okay. Staff helpful and friendly. The surrounding area is not as quiet because of the nearby train station but is safe. I will stay here again because of it's convenience and value for the money.

Oldster, but we’ll maintained
Just needed a place to crash before early flight. Price point was good. it was a clean, spacious, and secure room. It’s a very dated property, but well maintained.

The refrigerator in my room did not work. The hotel was aware but did not inform me. Each room comes with an AC unit but you've got to ask for the remote. Half of the rooms open on a courtyard which is occupied by a very loud goose! The hotel staff were very friendly and helped me book a taxi for 6:00 a.m. on the day that I left.

We ended up staying in a very small room on the very top floor. Room was too small for 2 people and a few stairs needed to be climbed to get there. elevator does not go to very top. That was difficult for us carrying luggage

Traveler beware
I picked this hotel because it’s very close to Roma Termini. The rating seemed safe and it was only for two nights. Checking was fast and easy. Upon getting to the room, we couldn’t get the air conditioning to work, no buttons or dials as the remote was at the front desk, I wonder why. Upon getting it, the unit wouldn’t turn on. We informed the front desk as we were leaving it wouldn’t turn on. She came to our room, hit the reset button on the remote and the unit, she’s done this before it seems. Neither worked, then unplugged the unit from the wall, which tripped the circuit breaker, then it worked. Great we left. Came back that night and it worked for 30 mins when we got back and never again during our stay. We were given a fan for our room the next day. The in room fridge never worked either so we couldn’t even have a cold bottle of water. The morning of our last night, I was told the owner offered compensation for the AC and fridge not working, €10! Yes, ten euros. I was a little shocked at the small jesters. The front desk attendant said she would call to see if the owner would consider €16, the amount of the room taxes. I went back to the room and didn’t get a response from her. Upon checking out, we learned the owner didn’t approve the additional six euros. That was the icing on the cake.

A Hotel, which spoiled my trip to Rome !!!
I paid for a double business room. At my arrival, they were demanding a tax payment. They assigned me a single standard room. Since I complained, they told me to stay a night in the single room, so they could change me to a double the next day. I accepted under the condition of avoiding the payment of additional taxes. The single room curtains were dusty, the room smell dust and it hadn't hot water. The first night was a great disaster for me, an asthmatic person. The next day they change me to a better room - the one I paid for: a double business room with less evident smell. At the moment of checking out, even if they were trying to trick me with a single dusty room and the room was lacking hot water, they were still demanding the tax payment. I refused to pay more for such a bad service and lack of consideration. It's a shame, because the hotel is in a very good area of the most astounding city of the world: The Eternal Rome. Hotel Maryelen 2 ruined my vacations in Roma.

When you asked a question to the desk , they answer you something and later they changed their mind. The last day we asked a taxi for going back to the El Ciampino Airport and they told us the price was 45 euros; however, when we arrived the taxi driver showed us a ticket for 70 euros!!! Obviusly we had to pay that amount, we were leaving to Germany.

This hotel is a great walking distance to/from Roma Termini, which made our travel days every easy. The staff was friendly and helpful, the only downsides were a very thin mattress and almost no water pressure in the shower. But it is very budget friendly and close to train/metro station, so it's good for a night or two, but probably not great for extended stays.

No hot water, but clean and goid size rooms
Out of 5 nights, I only had warm shower once. Hotel staff is friendly, but powerless with the lack of hot water. The hotel is old, there is no phone or safe in the room, and bathroom is tiny. Upside is the convenient location and large rooms. I didn't see any AC, hot summer months might be a problem (I was there late May).

Helpful, friendly staff. Nice breakfast for 5 euro. Courtyard room preferable, street can be a little noisy. No air conditioning would need it in Summer.

need to be very carefull
we rented two rooms. first one was aceptable. Second room (cuarto del perico) wich means bird's room was inacceptable. At the check in they told us only cash, but when we move to lock for other hotel they told us they have credit card machine

Quaint hotel. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The bathroom was pretty bad. Found a cockroach, the shower head barely sprayed water and the drain backed up a couple of times. I think there were bed bugs or something as I had biters each night (1st time in 3 weeks of traveling). The location is ideal for people who need to use public transportation.

The room was spacious. Not much of a view. The bathroom shower was pretty full of mildew inside the shower in the hard to see places from outside the shower where they give it likely a cursory spray down. Used soap still in the soap dish.

Convenient location for the train station
Lovely and friendly hosts. Stayed only one night after arriving late from a tour. Just needed a bed for the night before catching a early morning train. Very easy and quick walk to train station.

Nice distance from termini
It was a nice family run business . The room was very typical Roman hotel room, small but well arranged. They had TV, fridge and air conditioning ( but no controls to turn it on ) .However I was able to turn on the air conditioning myself and from then on my experience was excellent

Budget hotel near Roma Termini station
The hotel was located within walking distance to the Roma Termini station. The room itself was sufficiently large, but unfortunately was more dated than expected and the bathroom was very small and also old. The staff were friendly and helped with any queries regarding the city and tours.

This hotel is in a great location. We used buses and metro to get everywhere we needed to go. The hotel is abit run down. Staff were helpful. Like an old building tho, we had cold showers when other rooms were using water, couldn't seem to get extra pillows and the air conditioning isn't turned on until June. Very difficult to cool off the room. Also they only accept cash to pay for your room, no credit card. Breakfast is 5 euro.

We love that hotel and planning to book it again. First of all its in city center, easy to reach from Termini and airport. Its very clean and hotel staff represents the highest level of hospitality. Too big breakfast as for us, but it shouldn't be bad thing ;) Which you all the best and see you soon!

Great place close to Termini
Staff was wonderful. We were able to check in early with no problems at all. Room was clean. Bed was a little hard but not horrible. We would definitely stay here again.

Convenience is the way to go!
For budget hotel which is near the Termini station, I am personally thankful for it. The room was clean and the staff were kind and helpful. The only drawback is that it gets a little noisy at night because of the bustling around the area. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay as there are a lot of shops and convenient stores round the area. Not to mention, it is very very near the Termini central station.

Great Hotel
Hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel was only a five minute walk from Termini Station. I highly recommend a stay here if you are going to Rome and want a cheap place to stay.

This hotel is conveniently located really close to the train station. The neighborhood is not the greatest at night, but always felt safe walking with my boyfriend. The room was clean. The shower would need to be refreshed (but it was clean). The mattress we way too firm. I like a firm bed but these are above an beyond firm. We don't hear any noise from the street (great windows!), but we could here our room neighbor coming in and leaving quite clearly.

Good place to stay
We felt welcome and the family owners of this hotel were very friendly. The room was clean, so was the bath room. One thing we would like to see any improvement, which may not be able to, is the noise. The noise from the other rooms including on the same floor and above of our room was very loud and we needed ear plugs to sleep. However, thinking of the price, location and hospitality, we will come back.

Small but clean and friendly
I wanted an inexpensive, clean, friendly place to stay while I made a quick tour of the Christian sites of Rome. The family who runs Maryelen was extremely helpful. The breakfast was good. The room, like most in Europe was small and the bathroom was extremely small but fine for a single person. The hotel was close to the buses from the airports and I bought a three-day metro pass and was able to get to wherever I wanted using the metro/bus system.
