“Perfect for visiting Rome on foot.”
The hotel first impression is not impressive, rather like a bed and breakfast but once in your room, it's fanstastic. The decoration, the confort, the cleanliness is not far from a 4 stars hotel. The staff is very helpful. Bedroom are cleaned to a high standard every day. It's a self service breakfast but with everything you would like on a proper english plate from eggs, to salami, cereales to croissant etc.....The hotel is situated in a very convenient district with many restaurants, 5mn on foot from Termini Station and walking distance to most popular sites , and the famous El Corso (shopping Street) It was perfect for us and we enjoy our stay there.
“Meh”
Definitely not a 3-star hotel as was advertised. The location is decent but the rooms are similar to the Comfort Inn in the USA and nothing special. It was too pricey for the low quality. They also don't have free wifi for guests and you have to pay by the day for access to the internet.
“Great little 3 star”
We loved Hotel des Artistes as a jumping off point for seeing Rome. It was immaculately cleaned every day, and the room was comfortable. The bathroom was fine for a 3 star, everything was in working order. It was relatively quiet, for being right on the street. The staff was friendly and courteous all of the time. We didn't try the breakfast or bar in the hotel, but the bar/pizzeria across the street was amazing, and the neighborhood has tons of little restaurants and pizzerias to try out, and is quite convenient to two metro stops. All in all, it was a terrific place to sleep.
“Rome an experience”
clean and convenient location for a Rome experience. Crossing the road is difficult unless you take a deep breath and just go for it - then the cars just part and you get through.
“A little far from center”
Good hotel, nice staff. a little far from city center but close to the Temini station.
“Great Hotel”
We stay there for 3 nights and we were happily surprise. The rooms are very clean and pretty. The receptions is quite ugly but the rooms are in very very good conditions. The locations is great, 5-8 minutes from Termini. Totally recommend this hotel
“Great value for the money- essentially everything you need is included”
Less than 10 minutes away from the main train station in Rome (Termini). Location in a relatively quiet area, save for a bar nearby that gets rowdy at times in the late evening. Wi-fi connection (extra $$) was very spotty and signal in the room was extremely weak. Breakfast was comprehensive and had relatively great variety, however we stayed for 5 nights and eating the same food every day got very mundane very fast. Our room included a fridge as well as safe to lock up valuables. Bed was spacious, room clean and staff available 24/7. Overall great hotel that I would recommend to any traveler going to Rome on a budget
“Great location, reception staff were rude.”
We stayed here two nights initially. Staff was kind of rude when we originally checked in, they did not seem to helpful. It seems that the more questions we asked , the more inconvenienced they were. We signed up for breakfast which was ok, I would have rather booked the room without the continental breakfast and eaten at a local restaurant. The location of the hotel was great in that it was 10 minutes from termini station and five minutes from the blue metro line. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance. About a good 25-30 minute walk to the colosseum, although I would recommend the blue line at 1 euro each way. Our room was quiet so sleep was good. The showers are on the smaller size so when you lift your arms your elbows hit. It also apparently has a hostel in the same building so the people you see makes you feel a little uneasy when going to your room at night. Overall I would not stay here again, maybe one of the two best westerns nearby. But I guess you get what you pay for.
“" Rome, so much to see not enough time "”
Hotel des Artistes is a good basic hotel, the rooms are cleaned and beds made up on a daily basis, the breakfast buffet suited everyone in my family. The hotel is located close to the metro station for easy access to the city centre. The rooms have electronic safes and fridges which are very handy, the only thing we missed was tea and coffee making facilities. Restaurants in the local area are worth trying as a very good evening meal can be had without having to venture into the more expensive parts of the city.
“A Superb Hotel for the Budget Traveler”
I mistakenly went to Rome for a weekend without hotel arrangements under the advice of a friend that I would be able to find a hostel quickly and cheaply by just walking a couple of blocks from the train station. After an hour and a half of walking around, I determined all the convenient hostels were booked. I was hesitant booking such a cheap hotel online, but figured if I'd already adjusted my expectations to a hostel, I shouldn't be too displeased with what I got. Ultimately, I was amazed with the quality that my girlfriend and I received from our two night stay. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The cafe across the street served an incredible cappuccino. The hotel is only a ten minute walk from the Termini, which shouldn't be too bad if you don't have much luggage. I have no illusions about having chosen this hotel out of affordability and desperation--however the quality I received far exceeded that of our travelling companion who paid three times as much as us per night.
