“Beautiful View”
We stayed at Hotel Del Mare for one night before flying home. We thought we would have to hire a taxi for the airport, but they offer to call a shuttle. Our shuttle was quick and was not expensive. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The restaurant around the corner was wonderful with great food and service. The breakfast was a normal continental breakfast. We enjoyed staying at the beach. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
“Nice Surprise”
Stayed here the last night of our four week trip, so that we could catch an early morning flight. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually a nice hotel, at a very reasonable rate, very near the airport, and more importantly, near the car rental drop off outside of the airport. The room as simple, clean, and had a balcony from which we could see the waves lapping on the shore. The staff was very helpful and referred us to a great little restaurant around the corner, on Via Formosa, called Pinzimonio, where we had a very good meal at reasonable cost. Breakfast in the morning was typical Italian: meats, cheeses, yogurt, pastries, etc. We were there during the second week of June, and I don't know how crowded it might get later in the summer, but while we were there, it wasn't empty, but wasn't crazy crowded either. The beach, just across the one lane road and sidewalk, was lovely. There are waterbreaks that form pooling areas that would be great for kids. When we arrived in Fiumicino, we thought our trip was already over, but instead, we discovered yet another interesting place in Italy. Who knew?!
“Good Hotel for Price and Location”
Nice, comfortable hotel overlooking the beach.
“G&H”
this beach front resort was a it was perfect end to our italy trip & the resturant recommendation around the corner was to die for - probably the only meal in italy i would like to have again
“very enjoyable”
no bad surprises, eactly as promised and expected
“Would definitely recommend to others”
Great time and a wonderful restraurant next door. Located across from the beach. We really enjoyed our stay.
“No what it appears . . .”
Most airport hotels have shuttles but this one did not. The hotel staff was not friendly or helpful. It was a very strange place and as a single woman it did not feel very safe.
“Good choice near the airport”
The hotel staff are very friendly and the location on the sea front is great. There is no shuttle from the airport and the regular "Rome" taxis at the airport will not agree to carry you, but there is another taxi stand for the local town taxis which many travellers are not aware of. The hotel is modern and nicely restyled, but on the ground level there is a strong smell of fish from the fish restaurant next door. I would definitely come back here next time.
“Good for Airport Departures”
Hotel was difficult to find - good thing we had a GPS. Neighborhood seemed a little iffy, but just across the street from the sea made for a beautiful sunset from our patio. The room and bath were large, though the lighting was strangely dim. The restaurant around the corner - in the same building as the hotel - was excellent, and appeared to be popular as it was very busy on a Thursday night. If driving, get directions to the airport from the hotel desk clerk, and don't rely on signage along the street which routes you the very long way around. The short way takes only about 10 minutes to the terminal. They began serving the breakfast later than our departure, so we were unable to utilize that benefit. Overall a good hotel when arriving or departing from Fumicino Airport.
“uncomfortable in warm weather”
Hotel was well-priced but the lack of air conditioning was a problem. Nice location on the ocean.
