“Good enough for me”
Really close to the Colosseum, haven't spend a lot of time thought, just used to sleep. Breakfast was ok, not so many options but still croissant, cheese and ham, some juices and coffee. TV just had a few channels, no sports one and I missed Barcelona vs Madrid game, that was very disappointing :( I believe the elevator was not working in the morning, I waited around 5 minutes and decided to take the stairs. Staff spoke reasonable English. Hotel room is small but ok for what I needed bathroom is also small.
“Can't wait to go back”
Great hotel with helpful staff.
“Great Hotel”
This was a really quaint hotel in a fantastic location. The room was large with a big window that opened overlooking quiet backyards. All we could hear were birds. The common areas were beautiful -marble, wood and antique-looking furniture. There is a roof terrace with gorgeous views. The service was fantastic - we got there early and they held our bags prior to check in. On the day we checked out, our flight was later and they held our bags while we walked around and had lunch. If I had to give negatives on anything, they would be that the included breakfast was not good, the tv did not have many channels in English, and you have to pay for wi-fi (per device, not per room). These were minor given all of the positives and I would definitely go back.
“Very enjoyable stay”
This is a 3* hotel. It is in a very convient location. There is a lovely roof terrace. Breakfast is basic but fine. The staff were extremely pleasant. We loved our stay here and would not hesitate to return.
“Value for money”
We stayed in Rome to see Rome, not the inside of a hotel! Rome was magnificent - so much to see and do - so I reckon over the 5 days we were there we spent only 10 'leisure' hours (max) in the hotel. We look for value for money, and the Hotel Colosseum was certainly that. Staff were great; room clean and comfortable; breakfast very predictable but perfectly adequate; storage available for luggage after vacating room. And the rooftop terrace has tremendous views over Rome: take a bottle of wine up and just relax! (Remember to bring wine glasses and corkscrew) We think location was as good as you'll get for the price: we didn't arrive til 8pm but still walked down to and around the Colosseum (we'd both agree that a 15 min walk is very close). Hotel frontage and side street location lacks the glamour (and price!) of main road locations, but is v quiet at night. Santa Maria Maggiore is 3 mins, with plenty of restaurants (and a coffee for 2 euros!) and an opera house (La Traviata was great), and Termni is just 3 mins further from there. From Termini we got the 40 bus to Vatican City one day, and Centre Storico another, but the rest of Rome (Ancient; Travestere; Tridente; Trevi; Spanish Steps etc) we did on foot from the hotel. Value for money most certainly!
“Average hotel in the price range for Europe”
Nothing outstanding, nothing bad in the room. Front desk, at times, not particularly friendly. When we ordered a cab to the airport we got a car at ten euros more than a cab would cost. The explanation given was that leaving so early (6:30 A.M.) cost more than if we had left at 7:30 A.M.!
“Just right for our Rome trip”
We extended a cruise ship vacation with a short stay in Rome. Our hotel was in easy walking distance from the train station which we took from the airport, with a breathtaking view from the roof of the city at sunrise/sunset. The underground stop was nearby to the Colesseum, but we ended up walking all the way. In fact, we walked all the way to the Vatican (which is on the other subway) and sights in between. We did end up taking the subway from the Vatican to the Spanish Steps. Our hotel location provided a nice spot to then walk back to the train station to the port. The breakfast was very nice and the room was cozy but just fine for a place to sleep. Definitely a great value for you to consider.
“Bad choice.”
This hotel is not convenient to anything. It is a 20 minute walk to the coloseum and a 30 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. The problem with these walks is not the distance but the hills you have to go up and down. The hotel sets on a hill and to go anywhere where have to walk down and then back up. The staff are not friendly or helpful. If you book through an agency, you do not have free internet. The internet you pay for is only good for one device. We will never go back to this hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone. What a bad choice for a lovely city.
“Very Good Hotel for the price.”
We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was very good the staff, helpful. polite and more than willing to help with advice as to where to ea. We would certainly stay there again.
“I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL NEXT TIME!! :)”
THE LOCATION OF THIS HOTEL WORK OUT GREAT. EVERYTHING WAS IN WALKING DISTANCE. WE ASKED FOR A BALCONY WITH A VIEW AND WE GOT IT. THE VIEW WAS WOINDERFUL TO WAKE UP TO. I THOUGHT THE ROOM WAS RATHER SMALL AND THE BED WAS HARD, BUT THAT WAS OK BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE MADE UP FOR THAT. IT WAS QUITE AT NIGHT AND ONE STREET AWAY FROM ALL THE RESTURANTS AND ATTRACTIONS. BREAKFEAST WAS WONDERFUL AND SO WAS EATING ON THE UPPER BALCONY. I WOULD GO BACK TO THIS SAME PLACE. THE DUDE AT THE DESK AT NIGHT WAS A FUNNY FRIENDLY GUY. WE ENJOYED THE STAY!!
