“Almost perfect for us”
Location was just right for us as it enabled us to walk everywhere and not be dependant upon metro, buses or even taxis. And walk we did to all the major tourist places, the Vatican being the furthest from the hotel but a very pleasant walk along the other side of the river. We used the metro on one day, just for the experience rather than out of necessity. Efficient but hot and overcrowded and the stations were not in the best condition - bit like some on the London tube! The hotel was modern and very clean. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, especially Alina on reception. Though we were very early arriving we had our room within half an hour, during which we had coffee in the lounge. Room service was good and reasonable price wise. We didn't get to eat in the restaurant on the roof as there were so many recommended places in Rome to choose from. The breakfast, while not exactly "full" compared to other European hotels was nevertheless enjoyable and sufficient. The deluxe room we had was surprisingly spacious and well furnished and in keeping with the modern theme of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The windows had shutters that you operated from within the room and the housekeeping was excellent. Our only complaint was that being on a very busy road, with the road surface being the cobbled variety, the level of noise took some getting used to even with the double glazed windows and the shutters down. Internal noise was also noticeable at times.
“Great modern style hotel close to all sites”
Hotel was modern, clean and spacious. Friendly staff. Central to all sites and train station. Roof top dining (not used) but menu looked excellent. Free WI-FI if you ask, and included hot cold buffet breakfast. Very satisfied.
“Loved this hotel”
The hotel was great and only a short walk from Trastevere where we found excellent food. When they found out it was our anniversary they sent up a bottle of Prosecco. The breakfast was very nice and the staff friendly and helpful on all accounts. We would love to stay there again.
“Excellect choice”
Great location, friendly staff, breakfast wonderful, overall great stay, will go again
“Great Hotel in Center of Rome”
Great Hotel located in the heart of Rome. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.
“Great hotel,great location.”
No 47 is in a great position within easy walking distance of the Forum.Coliseum & Victor Emmanuel buiding. There is a bus stop right outside. It's easy to walk to the Trastevere area where there are lots of eating places at reasonable prices. The hotel is very clean and efficiently run. There is a good choice at breakfast which can be eaten in a pleasant courtyard. There is a roof top restaurant with wonderful views. However the prices are sky high. The service is excellent but the meal is no way worth the money. We had 2 pizzas with wine ,water and coffee the next night all for the price of one main course!! So stay here but eat out!
“Great little hotel!”
The staff was warm and helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely the best we've ever had. I would recommend this cute little hotel.
“Bravo Hotel 47”
We travelled extensively throughout Britain and Europe in June/ July, staying in either 4 or 5 star hotels all the way. Hotel 47 was, by far, quite simply, the best hotel we stayed in. The staff members were elegant, highly professional, engaging, very helpful and gave close personal attention. We arrived nearly two hours early and yet no mention of this was made as we were warmly greeted, rapidly checked in and our luggage immediately conveyed to our room. Our room was superb in its view, decor, fittings and spaciousness and the air conditioning was extremely effective, despite every day of our stay being over 30 degrees ]. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Housekeeping was meticulous each day of our stay. Hotel 47 staff also assisted us in arranging day excursions in and around Rome, even telephoning service providers to confirm transfers and prompt pick up etc. All of the staff we encountered spoke English fluently. The rooftop restaurant has a wonderful ambience, view and menu and certainly enhanced our experience of the hotel and Rome. Once again the courtesy, warmth and personal attention of the staff was apparent. When we return to Rome there will only be one hotel for us - Bravo Hotel 47!
“Our worst experience in Italy”
My husband and I just spent 2 weeks (June 2011) in Italy. Our last two nights were spent at this hotel and we would definitely not reccomend it. We had constant trouble with both the internet and television service cutting in and out. The lights kept flickering and after we discovered a cracked cord with bare wires in the bathroom, we became very concerned about fire. We unplugged the flickering lamps. The room was actually fairly clean, but out in the hallways and common areas of the hotel everything was dirty and seedy looking. It looked to us like it was a nice hotel once, but didn't look to be kept up very well. The view from the restaraunt on the roof was gorgeous, but the dining was expensive and like I already said everything looked dirty and seedy. We had two additional complaints, first that we thought the location was good for being close to sites such as circus maximus etc... but we couldn't find any restaraunts or shops nearby. The area did not feel safe at night, so we really felt sort of trapped by our location and stayed in our room both nights there, longing for a bottle of water. Last complaint was that the concierges were all rude without exception, their tone, and nonverbals very condescending. They were definitely NOT open to questions. To leave on a good note though, the complimentary breakfast buffet was the BEST in Italy! We actually had eggs, toast and jam for breakfast there!
“Fantastic Hotel”
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rome. The room was large, modern and comfortable. Staff were outstanding, so helpful and friendly. They could not do enough for us, even adding in a personal touch when they found out it was our anniversary. The hotel itself is in an excellent position, an easy walk to the Colloseum with plenty of lovely restaurants around. Will definately be recommending this hotel to friends and family and hope to return there ourselves one day!
