“fully functional”

The free wifi was fast enough to use logme in on my desktop back home. The staff were helpfull. Room was clean and spacious. Blackout curtains and shutters actually create a blackout, which is rare. All good, happily revisit.

“Bad-let me count the ways...”

Physical impressions on first entering are fine, until you have to talk to any staff. They were indifferent and seemed to barely tolerate us. We were given a TINY room, dark - the exterior shutters were closed because the room faced an ugly alley and building 20 feet away. It was extremely noisy from the hallway people walking by and doors closing late into the night. At breakfast, coming with 30 minutes of closing, selections were limited - items not replenished. The wait staff completely ignored us, not even a good morning. Wifi - had to get new logon info each day - annoying. Bathroom so tiny, had to move sideways to get to toilet. Open electrical socket/box on wall. On complaining about room, we were grudgingly shown another room - same size, better view but only a small shower no tub, so we stayed where we were. Incidentlly, the tub was about 3/4 size - sit up tub, coulldn't really relax. Seems lots of tours stay here so an independent traveler is just lost in the shuffle - we are scrapping this reservation with 3 days to go, to move to our favorite Roma hotel - Hotel Canada. Helpful and pleasant staff makes all the difference to me and Nuovo Nord doesn't have even one we have seen in 2 days.

Area recommendations
The area around Termini is excellent for getting to and from and around Rome. Metro Station and taxis abundant. Many hotels and restaurants in the immediate area. We saw no crime problems and felt safe walking around anytime up through early evening - about 10:00pm.

“Would never recommend this hotel!”

The room was located outside an alley way and all we heard all night was dump trucks emptying the trash bins and delivery trucks. Very noisy and could not sleep at all!

“Good location and value hotel but beware unscurpulous taxi drivers”

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient to the main train station and it's easy to pick up one of the hop-on hop-off bus tours from several nearby stops. There were enough local restaurants for us to have a good choice of places to eat. The roof top garden though is not open all year round. We went in late October and it was closed. We got caught out though by coming our the wrong entrance from the train station and ended up being ripped off by a taxi driver who tooks us a very long way around to the hotel. Revenge was sweet however since in the process he managed to puncture a tire!

Getting around
The hop-on hop-off buses will take you close to just about anywhere you want to go. The tow day (48hr) passes are good value.

“Your lower than average hotel”

We chose this hotel for our last 2 days stay in Rome. The price and proximity to Termini station was the reason for choosing Hotel Nord Nuova. Please note that the Termini area is kind of a "rougher" neighbourhood. The hotel is your average, older hotel that still uses metal keys for the room and when leaving the hotel, you store your keys at front desk. Speaking of storing keys, I was quite shocked that I could just walk in, say my room number and front desk would not even ask my i.d before giving me the room keys - not very secure. Room was old but clean, the bathroom was extremely small! Wifi was not very reliable as you get a "wifi" scratch card, much like a phone card and signal was very bad in the rooms. Breakfast was very average compared to other hotels in Rome. All in all, if you're looking for a cheap hotel close to Termini station (literally just across the street) just for a place to sleep after a full day of sightseeing - then this is your hotel.

“Good european Hotel in convenient location”

The Bettoja Hotel Nord Nuova Roma was a very pleasant small hotel. The included breakfast was really nice and the hotel was conveniently located to various types of transportation. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend the hotel.

Since Rome is an extremely interesting and beautiful city I think any neighborhood would be very pleasant.

“Good hotel, close to transportation and sites in Rome”

We stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise vacation. It's located just a few blocks from the train station and Metro station which made it very convenient! Easy train ride from airport to the train station! If you like to walk and explore, this hotel is easily walkable to many of the major sites. if you prefer to take the Metro (only 1 euro each way), it's also convenient to the train. The hotel itself was nice. Air conditioning was nice and cool. Room had a balcony facing an alley which was an added bonus. Large rooms for European standards. The hotels located in and around this one are nice and plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. We stayed one night at another hotel down the street (same side of train station) it was rated 3 stars. and just as nice. We would definitely stay in this area of Rome again.

“Good central location”

We spent two nights at the hotel. We were allocated a recently refurbished room, but it did not have the advertised in room safe. Reception gave us a deposting box which worked well. The room was comfortable and a reasonable size dor two people. The hotel had a number of parties staying who all seemed to go to breakfast at the same time causing minor hold ups. The breakfast buffet was good with plently of food. The staff were helpful and polite. Overall a good hotel in a central location close to the main train station, very convenient for buses, tranis, the metro and the tour buses. I wish hotels like this would include internet in the rate.

Area recommendations
Rome has so much to offer. In the day and a half we had we saw many things including St Peters, the Trevi Fountain and the Colloseum. There is so much to do more time is needed to see everything. The older Roman buildings are the real attraction along with the many churches.

“Nice hotel”

We were pleased with the room, the shower and the breakfasts. We were disappointed in the internet. Their ad said it had wi-fi but during our first two nights it was not working at all. Later there was working internet in the lobby for a fee. On a second stay there was wi-fi but there was a fee for it. The hotel itself was very pretty, was a wonderful location and we would go back.
