Hotel is just over the river, slightly out of the city centre but very close to the Vatican.
You can walk to the centre of Rome in around 20 minutes, we found it nice to be away from the centre as it seems very noisy with lots and lots of traffic and everyone honking their horns !!
staff where very friendy
room was small but very clean and very nicely decorated
We stayed at the Aldrovandi Residence for seven nights from the 3rd to the 10th December. We found it very comfortable with excellent beds, well appointed rooms, a good breakfast, and terrific staff. The hotel is situated on a main tram route so you can catch a number 19 tram down to Risorgimento, right by the Vatican for €1.5. This €1.5 fare will get you to all sorts of places within the city. Stay at the Aldrovandi and you don't need taxis. There is a computer and a printer available for guests as well as free wifi. The staff are very welcoming and extremely good at what they do.
On a couple of evenings after a hard days culture we did not feel like going out for dinner so we used the good cooking and dining facilities in our room to make dinner there. A Carrefour supermarket with everything you need is about ten minutes walk away.
Book it. You won't regret it.

Tranquil hotel right on Villa Borghese, with a spectacular view of the park and St. Peters. About a 30 minute walk to the center, taxi stand right there if you don't like to walk. Overall lovely staff, great pool for laps, and a nice spa. Elegant, understated room as one would expect from a hotel of this caliber.
Hotel is one of the best i have stayed in. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for three nights while visiting Rome, hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely helpful!. Situated 5 minutes walk away from the Colosseum and walking distance to other main attractions, this place was ideal for us. Fresh towels, tea and water daily which was a very nice touch. The metro was 15 mins walk down the road which was easy to figure out, hopped on to go see the Vatican. Plenty of restaurants in the area - go to Papagio restaurant , which was 10 minutes away by walking. Best food i have ever had (Lobster with short cut pasta in a tomato sauce and white chocolate tiramissu).
The hotel was lovely, very clean rooms and a lovely design... The staff were soo friendly and it was a 10 minute walk to the bus station so we passed many cafes to gave breakfast in on the way
I would definetly stay here again

It is a GREAT place. I was at the first floor room 206. first of all, it is not noisy!!! i don't understand why people left comments like that. I didn't hear anything at all. Breakfast was great. I paid for breakfast but it was definately worth it. room was so clean, they actually clean it twice, one for the morning one for the night. hotel also has converter for electric devices. they have nice hair dryer, not like cheap ones. So, everything was great! The staff was amazing. i highly recommend it!!!
My friend and I stayed for 3 nights at the hotel, but we wish we had booked a longer stay. The hotel is of a very high standard, when you walk into the lobby you are dazzled by the shine on the floor tiles, and this cleanliness goes on throughout the whole hotel. The rooms are very very spacious, comfortable and have free wifi. You get a good view of the city from the roof terrace, which is nicely furnished and also very comfortable. The restaurant is great, the food is extremely good and well presented. The team who work at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful, in all, we had a fabulous stay in this great hotel and are looking forward to going back there again in the near future. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
The hotel is a high standard luxirious facility. Yet things should be adjusted to make the visitor comfortable according to the expectations from such a hotel.
The bathroom is lacking hangers or shelvs. The table is occupied with products for sale, yet there's no katle and cups for tea & coffe. This could be anice treat in December.
There's no option to use towels more than a day and to help the ecology of the world. All and all these are small points yet very nice to be considered at such a hotel.
