I have been to Puerto Vallarta five or six times and have stayed at a different hotel or resort each time. I can be picky but I have enjoyed them all. Since I was coming alone this time I chose to be centrally located in the Zona Romantica. I consulted read about many places after settling on Casa Fantasia.
The price to value ratio could not be higher in my opinion. I have two more nights in my lovely room with good size bathroom, king bed, large private patio and flatscreen TV. What makes Casa Fantasia such a special place though is its host, Impollido. It is truly his pleasure in the most understated way to make his guests happy. If it had not slipped out that he is working by himself right now I would never have guessed. The room has been beautifully cleaned, he is present and attentive for any requests, but never intrusive. Breakfast has been superb. I rarely eat a large meal in the morning but I have not been able to resist the extremely fresh orange juice and fruit and delectable made to order omelets.
The location is fabulous..two blocks rom the beach and only a few more to Olas Altas. Restaurants and bars abound just outside the door but it is quiet in the hotel. Wifi was perfect.
I tend to enjoy luxury which I won't say this is, but it has a grace and authentic Mexican realness that is worth its weight in gold. It has been a special experience I will not forget.
Hotel is in a great location the rooms was very spacious it only had a mildew odor when you walked in but we where not in the room that much so it was ok. Liked the fact that ypu can use the pools at the sister hotels close by. It was a family vacation my kids loved it.
Right on the beach and as we were on the 3rd floor an excellent view of the area. Surprisingly quiet for the location. We had a suite with a kitchen located on the balcony which was perfect. We were able to enjoy the beach and when it got too hot come upstairs and cool off for a while. So nice.

This beachfront Mexican hotel is about 1 km (a half-mi) from shopping and dining in downtown Puerto Vallarta.Emperador Hotel …More
Not the most luxurious hotel but comfortable; roof top pool small but cozy especially at night; bottled water and candy daily; the staff go out of their way to be helpful; no kids; things close by: Los arcos / suites, cabs, bars, bank and teller machines (take your passport with you to the bank), beach, convenience store (OXXO), street food and restaurants, and souvenir shops; *Los arcos will exchange $ for pesos at 1-13 rate
This is an alright hotel. Value for money. It's quite simple. Don't expect luxury like shampoo or a hair dryer. Eventhough they claim to have wifi we couldn't get it working. The elevator doesn't work and it looks like it has not worked for a while and will not be repaired in the foreseeable future. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is good although it doesn't face the ocean. The street has a sense of community with cafés and small restaurants.
This is a wonderful condominium located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. The apartment is beautiful, new, and has all the comforts you may need (A/C, dishwasher, washer and dryer, great kitchen). The location is amazing: a short 5-minute walk to the beach and the charming romantic zone. The staff is super friendly, helpful and a real delight to talk to. Lastly, the infinity pool at the top of the building is a dream: amazing views and excellent style. I'd recommend this place to anyone!!

The Rio Cuale divides downtown and the Romantic Zone, an area brimming with bars, restaurants, and shops. Isla Rio Cuale features a river walk and a small museum with pre-Columbian artifacts. Stretching for 16 blocks along the shore, the Malecón boardwalk is lined with bronze sculptures and palm trees. Boats depart from a nearby pier to Yelapa and Los Arcos, favored by divers and snorkelers.
