The way this hotel appears on line and the way it actually is are two different things. It is dirty dingy and cold. The breakfast is terrible and I would not feed it to my dog. I bailed out and went to another hotel. after spending a very cold night there. The owner did not seem concerned about how cold and dirty the place is. Do not stay here, save your self the problem.
The hotel is in the center of Heviz, which is a wonderful place "to take the waters" but not much to do for those who do not. According to the nice young lady at front desk it was built in 2000 but the architecture and furnishing appears to be more from the 70's. The famous Heviz thermal lake supplies the water for the pools and there are treatments available along with the use of saunas and steam rooms.
Dinner and breakfast served at buffet style, good and plentiful, the staff is always helpful.
I would recommend the hotel -and Heviz- for anybody wishing to take a cure, the water is supposed to be very good for all kinds of ailments - but if that's not what you are after you'd have a better time at the nearby Keszthely or around the lake Balaton some 20 miles away.

I had originally booked a room at the Palace Hotel in Heviz however our friend Markia came to Budapest to join us and when I called the Palace on one there could speak much English and finally they wanted to charge an extra $40 a night - I cancelled that reservation on Expedia and booked this one.
This is a great hotel, reasonable rates and the staff all speak English (at the front desk). The room had two sleeping areas with two bathrooms and a small kitchen area. Very cozy and clean. The breakfast was great. The staff was very helpful and our experience was great. I will be back.
