A nice clean motel for an overnight
The Claddagh is a nice comfortable no-nonsense motel in Rockport. My main reasons for my overall rating of average are (1) I reserved a room with a garden view but was assigned a room with a parking lot right outside my door and no other view, and (2) the motel description on hotels.com noted that breakfast was included in the room rate; however, we were told that breakfast service was suspended due to covid. The room was clean but rather small. I appreciated the fact that there were two luggage racks in the room. The bed was very comfortable.

We are absolutely shocked to see such a poor rating of our motel rooms. We are in business 25 yrs.and have never got a rating as bad as this,as evidenced by all other reviews on multiple booking sites. We work so hard at this and have posted multiple pictures of all rooms on the booking sites that we are baffled by your poor rating. You knew what you were going to get when you booked the room from all the photographs online. I would like to know what exactly you mean when you say it was more like a cabin. All the amenities, fridge,coffee maker,hair dryer etc! are in the rooms aswell as updated bathrooms and furnishings etc! All our rooms are decorated in cheerful bright colors so very appealing to the eye. As already said all room photographs are shown online so you knew exactly what you were getting and then to give us such an awful ranking/review is awful. We would like to know why such a bad review and why did you book the room in the first place?

This was a spur of the moment Labor Day getaway. This stay was perfect! The property is very well maintained, staff super friendly, and Mr. Gilmore was always on the move and available to take care of your needs. Centrally located to the coast, lighthouse, hiking, Rockport, Camden. Will definitely be going again!! Stress free!!!

We spent a total of 5 days here, in the Fall, because it is centrally located in relation to the places we wanted to visit, Camden, Rockland, Belfast, Bar Harbour and Boothbay Harbor, among others. We were pleasantly surprised by the Motel’s nice rooms, clean, well-furnished. Easy parking. The owner, Alex, was very helpful and a nice breakfast was available. Great Irish hospitality.

This was a touch of Ireland. The owners, Alex and Siobhan, are from Galway Ireland and have brought that graciousness with them. The rooms were nostalgic and darling.and the grounds beautiful. If I return to Rockport, I return to this charming place.

The motel and owner has a distinct "Irish Home Feel". I found it to be a very good place to spend a couple nights (I was attending a nearby professional conference so didn't use some amenities, pool, etc.). I would recommend the hotel.

A touch of Ireland in Maine
A cute motel with a crisp, well maintained exterior. The room was comfortable with a little old-school charm. Really well-appointed breakfast.

The motel owner was very personable, and the room was charming, with appointments you would expect more in a B&B than in a motel. The breakfast was more than adequate, including eggs and fruits as well as scones and other items.

There was zero WiFi. We could not use our mobile phones AT ALL - neither one of us. That was a real issue for us.

We have no control over cell phone service, this is why we have provided free long distance phone service in the US and Canada from all our guest rooms.We have excellent WiFi and nobody ever complains, the password is posted in all rooms and I don't know why you could not get online.

A little piece of Ireland
This was a wonderful and quaint little place with mementos of Ireland in all the details so carefully picked out for a very unique and restful place to stay. The continental breakfast was great, with scones, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, great coffee and very Irish pub music to warm your heart!!! Blessings abide!!! Thank you to Alex and his family!

The rooms had a cozy feel, new bedspreads and chairs- there were windows in the bathroom, nice lamps, comfortable beds. The grounds were lovely with tables and chairs to sit outside. A nice breakfast and friendly staff made it a great stay in this convenient location in coastal Maine.

Delightful and charming. Quaint and up to date at the same time. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful-suggesting great restaurants for dinner and breakfast. Bedding was soft and comfortable. We would recommend to the traveler and would stay there again! Thank you.

This was our third visit over the years and the motel was still as nice we remembered. The rooms may be small, but well appointed. Alex is a good host and willing to share Irish stories if you're interested. We will be staying there again.
