We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on our drive through. From all the hotels I have stayed at this was the best one! Employees were polite, attentive to our needs and extremely accommodating and helpful. We'd never expect a budget hotel to be this great. At our destination we had to stay one more night at a hotel and decided to choose a La Quinta as well - again, a superb experience. From this moment on we will only exclusively stay at La Quinta.

“Nice but no thrills”

We stayed in Salem for 3 nights and overall we were really satisfied with La Quinta. We have stayed in La Quinta's all over the country and knew what to expect. We were in a room on the 2nd floor and it was very clean, however the shower head was loose and the extractor unit in the bathroom was also loose however neither distracted from the stay. If i am being a little picky the tv looked like it came out of the ark and i could not connect my laptop to it but as i said i am being picky. We only went to breakfast on our first morning as there was only about 4 tables for the entire hotel and we were not overly impressed with the fare. Having said all that it was a very peaceful hotel and the staff were real nice and i fail to see why this hotel has such a low expedia rating. I'm not saying its the best hotel i've ever stayed in but it is also far from the worst.

Nice motel for the money. clean and modern. improvements recommended: flat screen TV and higher quality breakfast/coffee. Very nice for overnight stay on the road.

“Very Clean!”

This hotel was very clean throughout and the beds very comfortable. Worth the money we paid. The breakfast was the typical continental breakfast and the person in charge ran the breakfast room very smoothly and she was very friendly. We were all asked if we needed anything while eating breakfast and she did her best to make everyone happy. I would stay here again.

“Hurricane Irene Retreat”

Our room was conveniently located next to the stair well allowing us to take our two poodles out when necessary without muss or fuss. The staff was so friendly it was as if we'd known one another for years. The breakfast area was very well kept and the ladies running this area were at the top of their game. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. One comment to our fellow travelers with pets; please be responsible and take a bag out with you when you take your dogs to do their business; a little common courtesy if you please. We always pick up after ours.

Seriously - nothing wrong with this hotel and I am a picky customer! A GREAT place to stay and would recommend to anyone in the area or passing through - as we were.
