“Very clean and comfortable”

This is a very clean, comfortable, hotel - not a resort. So if you're looking for a great place to stay about 30 minutes from Blacksburg, it's perfect. Our room was spotless and quite large. The bed was not too firm, not too soft - just right. We had 2 pillows choices each, one labelled firm and one labelled soft. I wanted to bring the soft pillow home with me. The breakfast isn't gourmet but there are a lot of good choices. Forgo the fitness center, which consists of 2 treadmills and a bike, for a hike in the stunning mountains nearby. The Appalachian trail crosses Rte. 311 about a 10 minute drive away. The views are incredible. I highly recommend this hotel.

“good night's rest”

great place for overnight stay to break up a long trip. hotel was clean and very easy to get to off the highway. The closest places to eat (besides the gas station) are a couple of miles away in town, but even those are easy to get to. however, breakfast is complimentary.

The Hotel is clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet was adequate. There is no bar in the hotel and not much going on in the immediate area.

“Very clean and NO SMOKING FACILITY”

I didn't know much about this hotel except from prior reviews. I called the hotel first to see if it was a no smoking hotel. I was delighted to find out that the whole facility was non-smoking. The room was nice size and clean and had no smell of smoke. The air conditioner was quiet. The bathroom was nice sized and the shower head was wonderful. The room came with a breakfast in the lobby and the breakfast was very nice. I would definitely come back again!

“Very nice, all around”

I was very impressed with this hotel. We stopped in for one night on the way to our ultimate destination. I had 2 young boys with me, ages 6 and 4. A lot hotels tend to stick you in the worst room when you have young kids (the one next to the ice machine where it's noisy, etc.), but this one did not. They treated us very well from beginning to end. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk gave my boys 2 free, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, which was so nice after a long car ride! The room and hotel was very clean. Everything looks newly remodeled. I am usually a low-maintenance traveler and don't have to ask for anything, but this time I did because my 4 year made a mess and spilled something all over one of the beds. I called the front desk at around 6pm to ask for new linens and they had them for us within 10 minutes! Great service. Check in was quick and easy (less than 2 minutes). My only complaint is that the beds are not very soft, but that is a personal preference--many like firm beds; I am just not one of those people. I would definitely stay here again, though. Oh, and just FYI because I don't think the description mentioned it--they do have in-room irons and ironing boards and hair dryers. :)

Check in was really easy though we arrived at 2:00 AM in the morning. great friendly staff, clean room and great breakfast as well. we enjoyed our stay very much

This Holiday Inn Express is easy access from I-81. The breakfast buffet was good ... hot foods included eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, cold foods included cereal, yogurt, muffins, bread. The hot cinnamon rolls were excellent. Juice, coffee, tea, milk, tea, hot chocolate were plentiful. My room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Cable tv was good .. flat screen, lots of channels. I would recommend this hotel. Excellent value for the money.

“Pretty good”

Room was very clean but had a musty smell. Breakfast was decent. Had fruit, oatmeal, danishes, cinnimon rolls, coffee, etc. Eggs and sausage were more like fast food style - edible though.
