“Great Place If Traveling With Kids”

My husband & I were there from May 1st to the 8th. We stayed in building 2200, a great location if you like being near a pool and a 2 minute walk to the beach. Our room was nice and very clean. We had a small problem with the a/c and a maintenance man was there in a matter of minutes and fixed it. The buffets were much better than the specialty restaraunts with the exception of the Italian restaraunt, Il Piemonte. Service is better at the restaraunts though. A person cannot go hungry at this resort. The nightly entertainment in the plaza was good. The Disco was too far to walk at night after drinking so we never went. The Theatre was too hot and we were there only briefly one night. The entertainment staff and poolside waiters are a great asset to Sandos. All in all it was a great place for the money but it is geared towards families so we will not be returning. Buy your trinkets in town instead of the resort, its only a $5 taxi ride one way.

“Great Value All-Inclusive”

Having never vacationed in Playa Del Carmen, we decided on a week vacation in an all-inclusive resort. The bottom line is Sandos is a great value all-inclusive resort with the best ocean front beach on that entire strip of resorts. Food was quite good for all-inclusive, both at the buffet and ala carte resturants. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. We were assigned a room in the new Rivera section which just opened within the last few weeks. This area is at the very rear of the resort,furthest away from the beach, however it has the best pool and also has a seperate buffet resturant, swim-up pool bar and the rooms appeared to be larger than the older section. Never an issue getting down to the main section and the beach as there are always 12 person golf carts shuttling guests around the resort. If you need the fanciest resort, there are a number of them along the beach, however the Sandos Playacar Resort is a great value resort for the money !

“Best hotel in a very nice place.”

This hotel have one of the best beaches in Playa del Carmen. The hotel comfort, ammenities, service, cleanliness, maintenane, security, etc. The personnel are very friendly and professional. the room was excellent. The bars and restaurants have food of excellent quality and variety. In sum, an excellent hotel.

“We love it! can't wait to go back”

We just came back last week. We love it! Excellent staff starting with Gustavo in reservations at the hotel!!the restaurants are fantastics! daily buffets are very delicious and a great variety of food. We had a great room in the hotel close to the beach.We enjoyed every minute. We highly recomend this hotel. we are planning to come back with some friends. Great experience!!!

“Cool swim-up bar”

Only problem was the air conditioner in the room had to be fixed twice. I wouldn't even have noticed it wasn't working, except with two small kids you want it. The swim-up bar at the rear of the property is nice and the pool is very large! Our room was large and very new.

“Would certainly return”

Staff was friendly. Grounds were well maintained. Food was diverse and good. Plenty of pools, and nice, (but crowded) beach.

“Loved it~~”

We stayed at the Sandos Beaches resort May 5-9 and had an awesome time! The transportation from the airport to our resort through Expedia (Best Day)worked out great as it gave us access to a tour Operator the next morning who was extremely helpful. Our room was in the Beaches section, so it was a very short walk to the large beautiful beach. This is the last hotel on the strip, so you could walk a long way on the beach to the south of the hotel & be surrounded by vegetation. Staff had varied activities going on all day & evening. The Michael Jackson tribute on Saturday night was very well done. I would recommend the Italian buffet & the French restaurant. There was lots to eat & drink and the staff were friendly & always trying to please. We felt safe the entire trip & took the short taxi ride into Playa del Carmen for shopping.

“Wonderful for families with children!”

My family and I had an outstanding time at the hotel. The service is amazing and you could not want for anything, because they will make sure you already have it. However, when we first checked into the hotel they had us in the Hosienda's. Which these 8 room buildings are really far from everything on the property and are full of bugs and very hot. We were able to move into the main hotel which was very, very nice. We could not believe the two different rooms could be the same price. Huge difference!!

“food and service was great”

right on the beach the rooms were clean there are a lot of kids but the staff keeps them entertain the only problem is that you don`t want to leave the property because every thing you need is there

I had lowered my expectations because this is not a five star resort and I figured we'd gotten such a great deal, it probably wouldn't be that nice. We read the reviews and most were positive so decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised! The resort was very nice, well maintained, very clean and we loved it! The beach was fabulous, the service was great and we had an amazing time. We would highly recommend this resort and, if we go back, will probably stay there again! LOVED it!!!
