“Great Hotel”
I've stayed at hotels in Cancun. This hotel is about a half hour south of Cancun. I was extremely happy about the location. It had a coffee shop that outdid starbucks and everything was free with the all-inclusive. They also had 3 nice restaurants ate at them all, great quality food. Overall am very happy with this resort. One little thing i didnt like was the lady who plucked you from the main entrance after checking in saying she was like your tour guide, trying to get you to go on a tour the following morning it was about a timeshare even though she never stated that, and gave you a certificate for 100 dollars to spend. Which was unnecessary seeing as how everything except one steak and lobster restaurant was included. But that didnt matter because they had a nice seafood restaurant there anyway.
“Forget Cancun Come to Puerto Morales”
I just returned from a 5 day vacation at this hotel, was at same hotel last year. There were 3 girls and one guy last year and 2 couples in the party this year. I have been to many All Inclusives and let me say this is among one of the Best! From the front desk to the food, entertainment to the entire staff this place is top notch. We all plan on returning sometime in the near future. Ocean Coral, you had me from Hello !
“Good hotel for the price”
Almost everything was great about this hotel. Except the bed was hard and they needed some varied activities like ping pong tournaments.
“Bad Food”
My husband and I vacationed here for our 2nd anniversary in october of 2011. The food here was awful! We are not picky eaters by no means and love trying new things, but this food was downright horrible! I think the problem is that they have very poor ingrediants and the so called chefs have no idea how to cook or season the food! The service was not good either, in the restraunts you would have to ask for something several times before you got it and there was times we left never getting even 1 refill on our drinks. Our other complaint is that there are hidden fees on the resort such as charging for lost cards to get towles and cost of activities. There was very loud music playing at the main pool which could be heard on every balcony and throughout the entire resort beach. To us this was annoying the rap music they play is not for everyone including us, we were ther to relax if we wanted this music we would've stayed in Cancun. On the upside, the room was very clean and spacious and kept clean daily if you wish. The hotel grounds were beautifula and super clean. The pools and beach were amazing you could tell the hotel took pride in cleanliness, the seaweed was raked off the beach by a tractor throughout the day. Overall our trip was just ok. The bad food was a big disappointment to us. The only thing decent was the Japenese restraunt. We have been to several other all inclusive resorts and the food at all of them was great. We will not be back to this resorT
“Very good All-Inclusive”
Very nice, clean and confortable room, good food.
“Hotel is nice, the rest isn't.”
Good. The hotel itself was nicely laid out, well kept, and the room we had was a very nice modern room. The grounds were well kept and everything was clean. The town proper is a 45 minute walk down the beach and has some cute touristy shops but if you hit the back roads there are some great little stands and restaurants with good, inexpensive food and truly friendly and hospitable people. This is the Mexico you need to see. Bad The food was some sort of an attempt to make american food, or american versions of other ethnic dishes that wasn't close to the american version and no where near what it should have tasted like. Most dishes were bland and nothing was much better than mundane. I would have rather gone home with the people working in the hotel and ate, it would have been infinitely better. The service was barely there. I felt like I was inconviencing anyone I approached, and the fact I had to hunt down someone to get service in the first place was frustrating. Drinks were hard to come by, the wait for food, or even water at the restaurants was too long for the number of people available. It was so systematic I blame the hotel management more than the individuals since they either given no or poor training. Spring break Cancun music and s*xual games at the pool, with mostly families and married couples there in August. Summary - If someone else takes over management of the hotel before it gets run down it might be OK.
“Wish we were still there”
Well all of the old reviews were right. Beautiful complex, Rooms have a bit of odor(bring a candle in your checked bag) and run the air at 19c it clears up, staff was friendly and very nice. Food was good and service was great. We had to wait a bit for dinner at the specialty restauraunts sometimes but it wasn't really ever that long. Just send a scout down early and call up to the room. Overall a great vacation with our 2 kids 16 and 15.
“Can't wait to return!!”
We've traveled to MANY countries around the globe and this is by far one of the best hotels we've stayed in. We are already planning a return visit to this hotel and one of their sister hotels for later this year.
“beautiful hotel, loved it”
Great hotel with beautiful grounds and attentive staff. We got an ocean front room in the priviledge section which I would highly reccomend. That way you have access to a quiet pool if you choose and they will make dinner reservations for you. The restaurants are small which is great, but if you do not have a reservation you may have to wait a while. The beach service in the priviledge area was awesome, they bring you water and serve drinks at your lounge chair all day. The beach itself had alot of seaweed because it is a eco protected area. The staff maintains it by raking the seaweed off the beach but it is still in the water. Did not stop us from swimming though. We had a great family vacation at Ocean Coral!
“Hated it”
First of all, the hotel was in a remote location. There was NOTHING around the hotel, only trees and jungle. I did not like the location AT ALL!!!! You had to get a cab to the next town and there was NOTHING in that town. This hotel is in the worst location I have ever seen in my life. The beach was crappy, the water was ugly. IT was the WORST place I have EVER stayed in my entire life. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. You could not leave unless you got a taxi--the closest town with anything to do was Playa Del Carenr which was about 30 minutes away. I would not stay here. We went from 7/16-7/23/11!!! All the restaraunts close around 10:00 and room service closes at 11:00PM, so if you got hungry after those hours you were stuck since it was out in the middle of the jungle unless you called a taxi to take you to get something to eat 30 minutes away. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
