“Great resort”
Resort is excellent in every category. The only issue we had was with snorkeling. We are avid snorkelers and Gran Bahia coast is unsuitable for it - there are only several shallow, sandy pools (3 feet deep) accessible to guests, coral stands are cordoned off, and sea outside the sand bags is always very choppy. If you want to snorkel and see coral reef you have to have a car or take collectivos, or taxis and go up/down the coast.
“Can't wait to go back!”
This resort is just outstanding. We were a little concerned because it wasn't on the beach, but this really wasn't an issue. The trolleys that run throughout the resort get you anywhere you want to go, and are actually quite a social event. They run often; we never waited more than 5 minutes for one. The staff and service were just wonderful. The food was great, and the atmosphere in the buffet restaurants very upscale with cloth tablecloths. The a la cartes were very good too and again the staff went above and beyond. We did eat at the other two resorts at Gran Bahia Principe with similar experiences. We were there for a wedding, which was beautiful and had some very nice touches to it. The reception was above and beyond. We can't wait to take our family back there!
“Return to Coba”
Great food, great service, friendly staff, large complex of 3 resorts, great for walking around if you don't want to take the shuttle cars. gym is ok not great. Went for 2 weeks (one week just isn't long enough) starting Nov16. This was our 3rd visit to BP Coba, also stayed at the BP Akumal once and BP in Punta Cana. Have stayed at a few other Riviera Maya resorts. All in this price range have similar amenities. Takes about 1 1/2 hours from Cancun airport if you don't have other resorts to stop at. There are some mosquitoes this time of year that come out in the evening so plan ahead, It was the same at other resorts in this area. Have also visited the resort in May and less of them at that time. Going to BP Coba again next November

“I would stay here again”
This was my first visit to Mexico & I went with my wife & 2 young children (20 months + 3 yr. old) in mid Nov. 11. I stayed at Coba and this Gran Bahia Principe Resort is HUGE and has 3 other complexes (Tulum, Akumal & Sian Ka'an) which you can use most of their amendities including buffets, pools, beaches, etc. I would recommend to use transportation they have every 5-10 min. to almost everywhere in the resort. Room: nice & cleaned every day. mini freeze filled with beers & drinks everyday. little outdated TV but not spending too much time watching it anyways. each building was three floors w/o elevator. we had a room on 1st floor, so everything was easy with kids. Food: too many places to eat! Each complex has buffet (breakfast, lunch & dinner), a la carte restaurants (you can choose 2 to 3 dinners of your choice per your trip depending on length of your stay), 24 hrs. snack bar and many bars. You can go wherever you wnat to go. All drinks are bit watery. Beach: There are beach for Coba, Akumal & Tulum. I thought Coba was best among three for kids to play. All white sand. You'll see many fishes when snorkel. I would recommend to go early as chair gets fill-up quick. Pool: Many pools on each complex. I liked the ones in Akumal. My kids loved & spent most of time in the pool. Overall, we had great time here at Coba and I would recommend to anyone who wants to spend vacation relax, quite and fun for the whole family.
“We loved it!!!”
The 4 of us had a wonderful vacation at the Coba resort. The staff was amazing, the rooms were super clean & the hotel properties were beautiful. We would surely go back to this resort in the future. Their "specialty" restaurants were not really worth reserving since the buffet always had a huge selection of food for everyone. We couldn't have asked for anything better!!
“"Best Resort Yet!"”
To start out, we have been on several Mexican vacations over the years, and this was the BEST RESORT we have ever been to! From check in, we were treated like royalty just for booking through EXPEDIA. ( Special check-in, no charge for the in-room safe, free use of the internet in the Premier Lobby...). The grounds were top notch. Workers constantly mowing, trimming, washing, sweeping, etc. Beautiful landscaping!! The food in the buffets was always changing and excellent quality, especially for an all-inclusive. The reservation restaurants were also great. The Brazillian was our favorite. The fact that you can use all 3 resorts was awesome. You never got bored with the same pool, restaurant, lobby, bar, or nightly shows. You can walk or take a shuttle between the resorts. We thought the nightly entertainment outside the Coba lobby was the best of the 3. We will definately return to this resort! Coba!
“Great time and great location!”
From the time we arrived at the hotel we were treated great. Beautiful property and great staff. Rooms was good size and very clean. The resort is a very large property but does offer shuttle services between all the different locations. Lots of activities on site as well as off site. Would defintely recommend this resort.
“Good hotel at great price”
We enjoyed our stay at Coba. The hotel was clean and staff was very attentive. The overall complex is large so beach was a good distance away but shuttles made it a non issue. Reservation restaurants were better than most all-inclusive. Buffet had a large selection but lunch and dinner daily varied very little. Really only downside is distance away from airport and Playa del Carmen which makes it an all day event if you plan to go to town for the day. We would go back again if price is right.
“Looking forward to next year's vacation!!”
The Gran Bahia Principe Coba was an excellet hotel. The a la carte restaurants on the resort were superb!! Food was great as well as the service. The beach at the Coba was very nice. The only thing we found was the rooms weren't as cool as we would have liked and couldn't regulate the temperature. Everything in the room was damp including our clothes.
