Rio San Juan, Puerto Plata Hotels

Rio San Juan is a fishing and farming town on the North Shore of the Dominican Republic, supplying most of the region’s fish. Boat tours are available on Laguna Gri Gri, a clear-water lagoon forested by mangroves. A number of bird species can be viewed here, and their return to the lagoon at dusk is an awe-inspiring sight. For beachcombers, a long beach bordered by coconut trees is to the east.
