“New and Beautiful place in Rio de Janeiro”
Big and Confort Room , nice view of Barra da Tijuca Beach. Nice hotel to be in and with the price expidia gave me, was perfect.
“Very Contrasted Experience”
I have stayed in 3 hotels so far in Brazil. Two in Rio De Janiero and One in Sao Paulo. For Rio Standards this is a very nice hotel. In fact it is only a couple of years old and so thats mostly likely why it is so nice. In general, hotels are not as well maintained in Brazil as they are in the United States. So the expectations should be that in a few years this hotel wont be as nice as it is now. That said, couple of contrasting experiences with staff and hotel quality. 1) People at counter were very friendly and cleaning staff was very friendly. 2) Cleaning of the room was sporadic. In fact there were days when the room was never cleaned. When it actually was cleaned everything was done well. 3) Waiters and Room Service staff. Very contrasting experience here as well. The hotel has different places you can order food. There is a small bar area on top floor by the pool that had very friendly and helpful staff. There is a bar area in the lobby where I had totally the opposite experience. Slow service. And extremely rude. Not so much to me, but to other people that I observed. They were literally making fun of them and mocking them almost directly in front of the clientele. 4) Other points Gym was small with pretty new equipment. Pool was nice and so were the views from the top floor. Room was high quality for Brazil and brand new. Area is probably one of the nicest places in the world to stay.
“great location”
The hotel is well mantained, staff friendly, rooms were clean but lighting was not working properly. Access to the beach is complicated despite being ocean front. and they have a very strict "no visiting upstairs" policy that may dislike some people. Breakfast was excellent, and the front desk staff quite efficient. Windsor barra is an excellent 4 star option in Barra. The beach in front is Rio´s best by far: Turquoise water, clean sand and safe environment. Hotel taxis costs double than yellow ones and front door man will try to book you on those.
“Great hotel on beach front but far from city attractions”
Great hotel, on the beach, but in Barra da tijuca, which is a good 45 mts by car from the main attractions in Rio. Internet is expensive They did not have adaptors at the front desk--so you be sure to bring the right adaptor for Brazil.
“The most expensive Services - I will never go back”
I was at this hotel for a 3 night stay for business purposes. On my last night I had to make an overseas phone call from the hotel. First, nowhere did I find any notice about their rates. Then I called the front desk to ask about how to make an international call, which was explained to me (and yet they didn't tell me anything about their outrageous charges). I know hotels overcharge a lot of money for international calls but I never expected to be charged what I was charged. My phone call lasted 48 minutes. My phone bill was 480 usd (17 Reales or 10 USD per minute!! I wrote a complain note to the hotel and they never even contacted me, thank you!!. When I was checking in, at the front desk I overheard a customer complaining about his bill as he was charged for Internet services and he claimed that he didn't even have a computer. You will also be charged a large pile of cash for internet services (25 usd). The room has no iron and if you need one, u need pay (probably more than the cost of an iron if you bought it at the store). The towels are quiet poor (very thin and old) and the TV is an old TV set (sorry no LCD). My bathroom was not cleant properly. Overall, I feel like this hotel is a machine to make money and cares little about their guests. I will simply never go back to this hotel. If you go there, beware of what i say. Ah, and also, if you come by air, good luck because a taxi from Rio International Airport to this hotel will cost you more around 112 Reales (95 usd).
“What a wonderful location”
The service is great, and the locations is wonderful.
“Everything was nice, but...”
Everything was great, nice location, right in front of the ocean, nice restaurants in walking distance, excellent attention. The only inconvenience was that the power fell for 5 hours and they did not have power generator... total chaos!!!
“Great hotel”
My wife and I went on a short pleasure/business trip and the hotel is very clean, food is great and the area where it is located is really nice.
