“Simply Superb”
Our stay at this hotel was extremely satisfying. This hotel is located in the prime location in the copacaba beach. All the suites in this hotel have large balconies facing the beach, awesome view. The breakfast buffet was great. The front desk staffs were courteous and attentive.
“Old Hotel but the Price is good”
The hotel is aged. The A/C is working but till todays I don’t how to control it or where is it. The view is wonderful. The swimming pool on the roof is small but you will love to stay up there. Room is good but bathroom is not acceptable.

copacabana is getting little tired, but the hotel is in good shape and service quality of the hotel is high. The problem is the elevators.. Be patient to get used to it...
“Very Nice Hotel in Copacabana”
Porto Bay was a great choice! It's location is fantastic- right in front of Copacabana Beach. You also have views of Corcovado from the 20th floor where the pool and fitness room are located. The staff was very nice and efficient. Room service was fantastic. I would stay in this hotel next time I am in Rio.
“Nice for Rio, not for me.”
The area is horrible after dark. The beach is beautiful though. The hotel booked an english driver in executive sedan for me for four hours, from their tour list. Ends up it is a chevy wagon and a guy who know's almost no english. Bad restaurant recommendations. I wouldn't stay here again.
“Great Hotel with excellent service!”
The Porto Bay lived up to all of my expectations and then some. The breakfast was great and it made it very convenient to eat before you head out for the day. The staff spoke English which was a big plus. They even printed out English newspapers for the English speaking guests. The hotel provided beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs at no charge. The location was great a lot of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Within close proximity to the subway (metro) which I highly recommend using it was clean, safe and cheap only about R$ 3. The buses are also a great was to get around. The staff at the front desk were always helpful in recommending places to eat or giving directions, they also exchange money. The roof top pool has great views. A must try is Churrascaria Carretão Lido it is right around the corner from the hotel they have great prices and the meat extremely good. Brazil was all I expected and then some I defiantly plan on returning again and I would defiantly stay at Porto Bay again.
“Will not go back to this hotel”
The Hotel conditions are for a 2 star level hotel, Elevators -old and small elevators, some times have to wait 10min to use elevator. Restaurant - try to avoid go into the restaurant .

Very nice hotel, but preferred Impanema area. But great hotel if want to be in Copacabana.

Our Porto Bay Experience was exceptional! Top Choice! Incredible quality & value . Every room had a furnished balcony and view. Rooftop deck, panoramic view unrivaled. The staff was extremely competent, experienced and accomodated all of our needs/requests in Portuguese and English languages. They were equiped to handle all of our inquiries; ie connected us with a tour company that took us on an amazing tour. When we wanted go for a bike ride along the beach - they provided the two wheelers... We took advantage of the tremendously tropical, expansive complimentary breakfast buffet. A number of local restaurants fulfilled our varied tastes and moods. We were impressed by the who range of amenities, professionalism, genuine care, and pleasant atmosphere.
