Excellent hotel and value. Nice older outside architecture. Modern updated inside. Very nice room, sauna, steam and small pool. Breakfast was abundant and good. Center of Riga location. Highly recommend overall hotel.

Receptionists are so "basic faces", smiles would make them beautiful (Christmas stress, perhaps). There was a dip in my bed, right in the middle of mattress causing uncomfortable to sleep. Otherwise, everything was great: good location, very clean room and friendly restaurant staff.

A love!y hotel in a great location and I'm sure most of the rooms were great. As a solo traveller I booked a single room and was very disapponted at both the size and the facilities. To be fair after my first night the hotel offered to move me but I declined as I was settled in my room.

Booked a standard double room and was put in a disabled room, which I was not informed about. It also wasn’t a double bed, it was two single beds pushed together. Very disappointed to say the least.

I liked the opera hotel a lot , my room was very lovely , very spacious , smart and a very comfortable double bed. Location wise it’s great. Staff were helpful and pleasant and it was nice being able to use the spa especially as it was cold outside it was nice to cone back too. Breakfast too was greet , lots to chose from. Overall I liked the hotel a lot and can’t see any negative details to say about it. I would recommend it and would probably go back And stay their again next tine I go to Riga.

The receptionist ladies were exceptional. The breakfast was good. I used the spa for 2 massages late evening. Afterwards, I ate at the restaurant and relaxed. The location is just a few blocks away, (a few minutes) from the edge of Old Town. It is right across the street from the train station and a department store. Thus, I really liked the location.

We had small but cumulative annoyances at this property that result in me not recommending others to stay. Upon check-in we were told we hadn’t paid even though we had via hotels.com. We were told our room wasn’t ready and we’d have to wait about 10 minutes. We were actually waiting for the staff member to check with management despite us providing our booking confirmation. Suddenly when management arrived we were required to pay €100 deposit. Thankfully we demanded a receipt because when we checked out we had to ask for it back and prove we’d paid for it with the receipt. Our deposit was in a special envelope in the til with our name on it - confirming our suspicion that it wasn’t standard practice - it all seemed dodgy! This on top of the lock breaking with valuables inside the locker at the sauna (to be fair sauna is lovely) and pickpockets regularly congregating less than 20 yards outside the hotel entrance left us with a sour taste about this hotel. I don’t often leave negative reviews but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Very good value for money, breakfast was basic, but all I needed. The spa area is what encouraged me to book this hotel, it was private and very relaxing steam room and saunas with plunge pool which I had to myself as nobody else ws using it at same time. Staff very friendly and it's short walk away from airport bus and old town. Very convenient.

Riga Weekend Getaway

The room I stayed in was... stupid to be considered a room. It's a roof cavity turned into a room where I had to walk around the room hunched over to avoid hitting my head on the sloped ceiling. It would be impossible to have a shower in this room, unless you were less than 1m tall!

In general it was an "below average" stay as we had 2 maintenance problems. On day 1 we reported the jacuzzi/bathtub was not working. They said they did not have anybody to fix at that moment but they would send someone the day after. They did not send anyone and we reported the problem again. Disappointingly, when we left the hotel on day 4 it was still not working. On day 1 we reported the air-condition was not working. There was almost no air whatsoever coming from the ventilation and it was 27C outside. They sent someone that just looked around the room to make sure the heaters were turned off but he did not fix anything. We had a very hot and sweaty first night. The following day I reported the problem again and a receptionist suggested us to sleep with the windows open (!), although it is a noisy street in the front. We waited, nothing was fixed, I called again and someone said this was an old building and they have restrictions in regards to their ventilation/air condition (!!). We had to sleep the following nights with a fan in the room. The lack of proper ventilation/air condition was our biggest disappointment in staying at the Opera Hotel and we would not stay there again, especially in spring/summer.

The hotel was in a great location and was real clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and always looking to help you like giving me a converter for my USA plug. The breakfast was outstanding that they gave you from 7am to 10 pm. The only thing they could improve on is making the swimming pool in the spa into a jacuzzi or hot tub, the pool is way to small for a cold water pool but would be perfect size for a Hot tub or Jacuzzi. Also this Quality of hotel should have a small exercise room.

The hotel is situated near the Central Rail Station and also near the old city. Perfect for any kind of transportation and at the same time for walking and sightseeing. The staff is very helpfull and nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok . The hotel has SPA . Very good value for spent money. Good for short business trips.

Well sited for public transport, railway, Old Town and Arts District with view of canal and park. Spa was excellent and so were the staff. Best breakfast I’ve had on a city break! Decent food at reasonable prices for lunch and dinner. The hotel is also very well insulated so no noise from corridors or adjoining rooms. Would go back in a heartbeat!
