“Highly Disappointed”
I must begin my review by saying that it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The check-in time was 3 P.M., and we were at the hotel at 11 A.M., and we had to wander around in Riga at -18 celcius degrees and wait for 4 hours for our room to get ready. The hotel is a very old, rooms are old, furnitures are old, and I must say that the TV was one of the first colored TVs. The biggest surprise the hotel management showed us was the cleaning of the Roof from Snow at 4 A.M. . We woke up with a fear that the hotel is going down. The sound of heavy foot steps on the roof and the snow hitting the windows with a crashing sound, I just went down to the reception and was simply been told that there is nothing they can do and this NEEDED to be done. The next shock I personally received was the lack of INTERNET CONNECTİON at the hotel. When we checked in, I directly asked if there is an internet connection at the room and they said that they have. Later on, I found out that there is a connection only in the restaurant and in the lobby, but with a password and to get the password, I needed to order an alcoholic beverage from the bar. Beside the facts that this hotel would run better with monkeys, the place of the hotel in the town and the view of the rooms are stunning and Riga is an amazing town.
“Definately recommend”
Very clean, well presented hotel, with ample facilities, very close to all local sights. Friendly, helpful staff.
“They have to improve its maintenance.”
It would be very nice if everything could work without problems.
“Avoid this hotel”
Staff not helful or informative, very dispondent. Hotel was dirty. Avoid this hotel choose any other
“I don't recomend this hotel”
I never in my life stayed in such a hotel with so old everything inside....i mean everything starting from the lobby coaches and carpets to the room all amenities, bed, chairs, TV, lamps, bath, shower head and so forth. Shame on the hotel administration, they didn't make any changes, didn't spend any money to do that true the years. I felt uncomfortable there, this is NOT a 4-star should look like. The pluses-good breakfast and excellent location.
“Great hotel, I'll go back any time”
Hotel was great. Breakfast was included - delicious, but do not ask for a wake-up call - not going to happen.
“Great location”
Nice hotel, although looks a little old fashioned, due to it's grandeur. Breakfast bar is extensive. Location is right by by the edge of old town, Very easy access. Great value for the money.
“Great location, comfortable hotel”
We were only there for one night, but it was a good stay. We arrived too early to check in (and stayed too late for checkout), but the lobby desk managed a locked closet for our luggage (and PC). I thought (no fault of Expedia) that in-room access to the Internet was free, and it wasn't. Our friends made use of the shuttle service to the airport, which worked out well for them. We didn't make use of most of the hotel amenities because of our short stay, but we did enjoy the breakfast.
“Ok for kort tid opphld”
Hotel er gammelt, men endel pusset opp. Baderom er stor, men litt koluvak lukt.
“Staselig hotell midt i smørøyet”
