Good value, enjoyable stay

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, air conditioning and double glazing - so no street noise.
Cons: No complaints - but only room for two people in the lift (elevator).
Location: Close to sights, with plenty of choice of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Spent two nights here in August - a Thursday and Saturday. Good location in old town, comfortable double room on 5th floor, helpful staff, and breakfast included.

Pros: Very helpful staff. got a picnic breakfast as we had to leave very early.

Great hotel, but...

Riga is very interesting and kind of a mini Prague without tourists. Great hotel. huge room, free internet, great TV, free brakefast, great location, but very noisy outside late at night due to the night clubs.

Great hotel, but active neighborhood on week-ends.

Posted 30-Apr-2014
Location: Location is fantastic. The only problem is the bars next door can get rowdy when the weather turns nice on week-ends.
The hotel is great. Great location, great staff. But we stayed on a beautiful Saturday in which lots of people were out partying at the bar next door until morning. So it was very loud outside our hotel all evening. So I would take this into consideration when thinking about staying at this hotel on a week-end during the busy summer months.

Pros: Great place
Cons: Shut down the bar across the street.
Location: Convenient to everything in Old Town Riga.
Wonderful room and view - very spacious, clean, new, and nicely appointed. The only bad thing was the all night bar across the street, where the drunks were off and on boisterous on the street - with the window closed, and being tired, the noise was tolerable. Very nice hotel elsewise.

Great hotel in an excellent position

Posted 28-Mar-2014
Pros: Creative use of space within the old building, spacious, interestingly set out rooms furnished in a modern style, well maintained and kept clean
Location: In addition to all the places of interest within Riga, the seaside town Majori worth a visit by train, 30mins. Beautiful beach, nice restaurants.
The Hotel Centra is in a great position within the old town, close to some great bars and restaurants. The room I had was at the rear of the hotel, very quiet, so can't comment on whether the rooms at the front are affected by any noise from the street. Stayed in Riga for 4 nights sightseeing (possibly 1 day too long as a solo traveller, the return flight not till 22.00 making the last day drag a little). Good atmosphere particularly within the Old Town, never felt unsafe walking around the city, day or night. Food and drink prices similar to most EU capitals. Riga well worth a visit, would recommend this hotel for its location and more.
