A old-style rather grand hotel

Posted 11-Jul-2014
Pros: Fading grandeur
Cons: At some point, the TV etc will need revamping, but I like it as it is!
Location: Not far from the old Town and close to the station
Nice enough room, though a disappointing view. (On the plus side, a small window in midsummer has advantages). other rooms looked rather larger. Nice enough breakfast, and the wifi was good. The TV was rather limited. Overall, the hotel had a rather fading grandeur, which suits me. Just be aware that while it used to be next to the National Library, that library has moved about 10 minutes away across the river; mapping apps have yet to notice!

Beautiful hotel close to old town.

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Good location, beautiful rooms and spotlessly clean
Location: Five minute walk from old town where there is plenty to see and do
Stayed in this elegant hotel for four nights and can't fault the place. The rooms were large, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff were helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was good with a variety of choices. Had dinner once in Benjamin's restaurant and the food was excellent. Definitely recommend this hotel.

great downtown hotel at reasonable rates

Nice hotel, better deal than the radisson around the corner. Old building with very heigh ceilings and squeaky floors add their charm, but are not for someone who's looking for shiny modern furniture and decor. All necessary conveniences, everything in great working condition. Awesome breakfast with choices for everyone.

Great hotel in a great location

Pros: The food in the restaurant was excellent.
Location: It is about 15 minutes walk to the Old Town to see the sights.
The hotel is a lovely old building between the Old Town and the newer business area.

Nice hotel but.....

Posted 20-Oct-2013
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. Close. To everything without bring in the middle of too touristic area. The problem was that out room was at top with tiny windows more lime a cell and it had a horrible sewage odor in the bathroom that make you not want to be there at all. Spoke to desk help and they reacted like they knew the problem. Breakfast was wonderful and we think other rooms might not have that problem. Don't go to top floor rooms.

We loved the Europa Royale Hotel. The staff is great, the room is large and comfortable with ample cable channels in English. The location on the edge of both Old Town and the Art Nouveau neighborhood was great. There are parks nearby and some restaurants, including the very reasonable Lido restaurant. The breakfast is fantastic with lots of choices. We really did have a perfect stay there and were glad we stayed for four nights.
