“too many promises”

wifi internet existed only on hotel's webpage :( too hot and too noisy basic food absence of information about the area

“Too far from old town for tourists”

An OK hotel with nice people running it, but it is a $10 cab ride or 30 minute bus trip to the old town.

“Svarte ikke til forventningene!”

Hotellet lå i et industriområde.Utsikt til byggplass. Det luktet kloakk eller mugg fra badet. Våget ikke bruke badestamp ,lurte på om renholdet var regelmessig? Frokost og middag var smakløs. Lite trivlige rom. Ikke stue,barområde som fristet noen å oppholde seg på. Anbefaler ikke dette hotellet.

Gamlebyen.Der var det litt å se og gode restauranter,kaffebarer.

“Fantastisk personal”

Alla var hjälpsamma. Frukosten var lite östeuropa men helt OK, god. Trots att vi planerade att gå ut och äta på kvällarna åt vi på hotellet som hade kalasmat. Personalen i receptionen hjälpte oss med råd och tips. Sängarna var sköna och det fanns alltid varmvatten till duschen. Kanske väl varmt. Det var nära till public transport, spårvagn, trådbuss och vanlig buss och det var inga väntetider. Flera små barer fanns på gatan vid hotellet med mycket billig öl och lokalbefolkning, trevligt.

Area recommendations
Gamla staden var otroligt vacker med fantastisk arkitektur. Men lika vackra som husen var lika höga blev priserna på mat och dryck. OK om man vet om det. Vi åkte till Jurmala över en dag, OK inte Riga men nästan, och det var otroligt fint där. Museerna är många och Ockupationsmuseet är ett måste för att förstå mer av vår samtid. Obehagligt men nyttigt.

“Et jævnt godt hotel til prisen.”

Hotellet er pænt og rent. Det ligger desværre i et uroligt område af byen. Lokale advarede mod at gå alene på gaden om aftenen. Der er megen gadestøj og megen indendørs støj, Tale på naboværelser høres tydeligt. Restauranten serverer meget lækker veltillavet mad.

Area recommendations
Byens centrum og især den gamle bydel er anbefalelseværdig. Der er charme og spændende folkeliv om aftenen.

“Eine Woche aus dem Koffer leben: Baltpark”

Die Ausstattung des Hotel Baltpark ist so schlicht, dass in den Zimmer auf Schränke verzichtet worden ist: Also eine Woche Urlaub aus dem Koffer. Toilettenpapier gab´s erst nach einem kleinen Trinkgeld; dafür war das Frühstück prima und lecker (wirklich!). Auf der großangekündigten Dachterrasse war über Ostern noch "tote Hose"; keine Sauna, keine Kaninchen, nur Ausblick. In mancher Jugendherberge hätte man mehr Platz gehabt (und vielleicht einen netten Aufenthaltsraum), aber gemessen am Preis ist Baltpark ein echtes Urlaubserlebnis.

Area recommendations
Riga ist absolut eine Reise wert. Jurmala auch im Frühjahr ein Traumstrand. Sehr zu empfehlen das Freilichtmuseum etwas außerhalb von Riga.

Riga hat prima öffentliche Verkehrsmittel.
Shopping
Nirgends auf der Welt habe ich bisher so großartige Markthallen gesehen.

“hotel carino”

l'hotel è molto carino, non è proprio vicino al centro ma si può raggiungere comodamente con il bus n. 13.

“zu weit vom Zentrum”

das Hotel hat in einer nicht unbedingt goldenen Lage:große, laute Straße nach vorne, hinten vergammelte HInterhöfe (hat auch seinen Charm, ok). Im ÖPNV direkt nur mit dem teureren Autobus zu erreichen, dafür die Haltestelle direkt vor der TÜr. Zur Tram ca. 10 min Fußweg, ins Zentrum 1h per pedes. Frühstück nicht gut. Jacuzzi und Sauna auf dem Dach nur für bestimmte Gäste (??) oder Privatparys genutzt. Also: Eher nicht hingehen. Es gibt sicher bessere, gleichpreisige Hotels im Zentrum.
