We were extremely pleased with the hotel, we spent 1 night there at the beginning of our holiday and 2 at the end, we asked if we could have the same room which they accomodated us with. When we booked in the second time the room wasnt quite ready and we were given 2 drinks vouchers while we waited the 10 minutes. The room was very clean and comfortable, we were pleasantly surprised at breakfast about the quality and choice, superb breakfast. Although Scotch corner isnt within walking distance of anything there are plenty of things to do and see just a short drive away, we would definitley stop at a Holiday Inn again, but be careful not to confuse with a Holiday Inn Express as we did, Express is there for a reason !!
My wife and I were staying just for one night as we were cycling the Tour de France Route - Terry and Hannah were so friendly and helpful. Bike storage wasn't a problem, storing our luggage for somebody to pick up later wasn't a problem, in fact nothing was too much for them. They were perfect hosts in a wonderful place.
Good welcome from two young men. Rooms OK but showers (see below)
Mattresses had seen better days with protruding springs but having just completed 70 miles of the C2C
we would have slept on corrugated iron
Basically town centre pub, especially noisy because of the weekend - woken up twice by customers shouting until 2 am,
Used bottles thrown into alley below our rooms at 1 am!
Conveniently situated, clean, comfortable with helpful staff and a good breakfast. The room was comfortable with en suite modern bathroom with good shower. Just what was needed. Very pleasant stay. Central location with parking just outside. Car needed to be moved at 10am because of time restriction.
We stayed here whilst competing in the national cycling hill climb championships. They were extremely accommodating to our needs and are not strangers to the weekend adventurers.
The rooms were perfect with storage, a comfy mattress and good en suite. Cant really grumble, they ticked all the boxes.
We did not sample the evening food as we already had plans. However, they seemed genuinely disappointed that we didn't sample a full cooked breakfast, which to me shows pride in their food.
