I stayed one night and did not eat at the hotel.
My room was a single "Queen" room. It was very well equipped, but
a) It was at the front of the hotel facing the road which made it rather noisy.
b) Although a reasonable size, it was over-furnished making for a rather cramped feel.

We stayed at The Richmond Hill Hotel on the weekend of the England V Scotland rugby match and found it added to greatly to our complete Twickenham experience. The hotel itself has lovely views to the river and on a clear day you can very easily see Twickenham Stadium.
The few days we were in Richmond were spent with friends and both sets of rooms were clean spacious with good shower facilities. The staff were very courteous and helpful and were a credit to the hotel.
My only suggestion would be that the hotel found a more reliable taxi firm for their clients use as when we required a taxi to the station we were told we would have to wait at least 20 minutes in which time we could have walked. Not really acceptable if people have time tables to keep to.
All in all a very good experience and would definitely use the hotel again.
The stay was OK because there was free street parking on the weekends--but be warned that the B&B is advertised as having parking and there are only two spaces available which are usually taken--I suspect by the owners of the B&B. The facilities were clean, and comfortable, and the location was superb. But when we arrived there were only young people assisting us, and there were cigarette odors in the hall. To be honest, it felt like some teenagers took over their Aunt's B&B. We were a little (only a little) uneasy about the stay. When the owner arrived the second day, we felt much more reassured--so this may not be a common occurrence. And I would like to reiterate that the location cannot be beat.
The Richmond Gate is located at the crest of the hill overlooking the River Thames and the town of Richmond. The hotel is convenient to the Richmond Park, a wonderful pub called the Lass O' Richmond Hill, and is a short walk to downtown Richmond where shops and restaurants are plenty. The Richmond station is a 10-15 minute walk away also and offers Underground, Overground, and train services. There is also a bus stop located a few steps away from the entrance of the hotel. The hotel offers 3 meals and tea service along with direct access to a sports club with cardio, weights, swimming pool, hot tub, and spa services. Overall, a wonderful place to stay complete with English charm and full service amenities.
"very convient hotel for the event which we were at"
The hotel has a good location and there good secure parking facilities. It is a pub and so the public rooms were of that style, and quite busy in the evenings that we were there. We have stayed before and some areas have been refurbished since our last visit.
Was a bit concerned after reading some reviews but problems other people had mentioned did not arise. Although the room was on the small side it had every thing we needed granted the décor of the room and certainly the bathroom could do with an up grade it was clean the room was very quiet we slept very well and the hotel itself was very well placed in the centre of the town for restaurants and bars well worth the money it cost
the breakfast was fine though we would have liked the option of a full english

Although only a 15-minute train ride from central London, Richmond’s green spaces and historical landmarks make it a popular alternative to the crowds of the city. Wild deer roam Richmond Park, the largest Royal Park in London, while history and legend surround Hampton Court Palace, once home to Henry VIII. A visit to the bars and restaurants of Richmond Riverside make a perfect end to the day.
