“Pleasantly surprised”

Booked this through Expedia's Unpublished Rates but didn't have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised ---the room looked like it had been recently renovated. Comfortable bed, great pillows, extra blankets, new sink, nice toiletries, wireless, fridge and a Keurig coffee brewer! It WAS the second room since the heat did not work in the first but the Manager Dawn was lovely and switched rooms immediately. The only other issue was the loudness of the bathroom above but overall it was a great stay and I would book again.

“Friendly staff and good condition, but couldn't sleep due to mattress”

Staff was friendly and helpful, and rooms in fairly good condition. Shame about the mattress, it made me feel really hot, I couldn't sleep all night. Also an alarm kept going off every few minutes in an empty room from 3 in the morning for the rest of the night.

“The smell was so bad”

Stay away....very musky smell in the rooms....not worth the money. I was discussed.

“A good deal for the money and location”

The front staff was very efficient, helpful and friendly. They separated us from a college team by 5 floors which we greatly appreciated. The room was nice but a little rundown. The shower was too difficult to turn on. It took two of us to turn the knob it was so tight. The bathroom could have been cleaner but could have been a lot worse too!

“Not Impressed”

The hotel's location is the only PLUS. It's conveniently located near I64. The maintenance and cleanliness (or lack thereof) left much to be desired. I am NOT high maintenance or difficult to please. However, this hotel reminded me of a roadside motel. I don't know how it's rated 3-stars. I would've gladly paid more for better!

“surprise”

We arrived at our hotel early so we couldn't check in until 3pm so we went to Kings Dominion but before I left I made sure our rooms would be secure. The lady at front desk said unless we waited until 12 or 1 in morning we would be fine. We went to check in about 9:30 and this lady said she was about to cancel our reservation because she hadn't heard from us, so I explained the first lady said we could wait to check in. This lady was super nice, she changed our rooms around as the hotel was overbooked and moved us to better rooms, however about 15 minutes later she called a had to move us again, so we moved to another floor . One of the two rooms was already occupied but finally got rooms right one was a suite and other had two queen beds. Even with all this the ladies at the front desk both were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in business district not exactly kid friendly but we had a comfortable stay. This only Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in that did not offer a free breakfast.

“lovely place”

hotel staff was super friendly. our room was great minus the bathroom sink it was kinda weird. hotel had easy access to stores. location was wonderful.

“SoSo”

Staff at front desk were not very friendly. When I asked about breakfast that was to be included, I was told it was not. I called Expedia and the person then called the hotel and corrected this, I appreciate the person at Expedia faxing this information to the hotel so i could receive what I paid for. Also the lady working in the restaurant at breakfast was not very friendly as well as difficult to find. The cost of breakfast was too expensive for what it was. Many other hotels provide a better breakfast included in the price.

We really had no complaints. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed comfortable, things worked, and there was no excess noise.
