“Very sufficient”

We were going to a show at VCU Landmark Theater. Very convenient for what we needed and included low cost parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious and comfortable with a great view of the Richmond skyline.

“Great for Business”

Overall great and convenient. Perfect for business travel. Near restaurants and food options. Some surrounding area can be a little scary (stress little and some) if you're not used to the city. I ate lunch a couple days at a place that sold 40 ounce malt liquor in the fridge. But I wasn't the only dude in there with a tie on. (and no, I didn't have a 40) Great hotel, great value. -Shu

“Nice Stay”

Nice hotel, convenient to downtown attractions, good service at front desk, including wireless internet. Hot breakfast was good too. Only thing was 6 foot maximum height in parking garage (due to sprinkler system pipes). Be careful if you have a pickup truck and are over 6 feet tall!

“Not impressed”

Hotel rooms are large, but a little outdated. The first room I was put in smelled of mold and the carpet was soaking wet, apparently they had problems during Hurricane Irene. Second room was clean without any problems.

“Unsafe Hotel”

Spent the evening during Hurricane Irene night and experience water leaks on three of the windows in the room. Lost electrical power and emergency lighting power went out about 6 hours later. The next morning attempted to walk down the lobby and it was completely black, and I am glad I brought some candles. I am working on a letter to the corporate office and Richmond's fire marshall.

“Very convenient for visiting VCU”

We were attending an orientation at VCU, and this hotel was recommended to us. It is very convenient to the campus and to downtown. Convenient parking is provided. The room was large and clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

“HI Xpress Dwntwn”

The location and the price were perfect for my needs. The breakfast was better than most "continental" offerings. The desk clerks were extremely helpful and pleasant. My 3 crankypants gripes: 1 Love the bowed shower curtain rod - hated that the curtain did not seem big enough or stay put, allowing water to land on the floor. 2. Turned over in the middle of the night in the bed and thrust my hand under my pillow between the matteras and the head board, hitting the wall. Wall has that hard, prickily spackle paint and I lost the skin on 3 of my knuckles and bled. Same when I missed the light switch next to the front door. Wouldn't want to have kids playing around this paint for sure! 3. No mention was made of the parking fee that I remember on the reservation or at check in - yet there it was on my bill at check out. Tho the clerk removed it - I just found it pending on my VISA bill. Not cool! Still all in all - a great place, great location, great price.

“Excellent price for an excellent hotel.”

The price paid for the services offered (complimentary breakfast and free WiFi access) is simply astounding.

“Good Place to Stay in Richmond”

This is a typical Holiday Inn Express. If you're familiar with this property, you know what to expect. It was in the downtown Richmond area, which was convinient enough. Rooms were clean and service was good. Breakfast was included, which was nice. Only downside, its not really walking distance to anything.
