“Nice hotel, shame about the spot”
Clean, spacious, comfortable but further away from Gare Lyon Part Dieu than I expected. My room overlooked the rail tracks but was very quiet. Free WiFi in foyer and free cable connection in rooms...but I couldn't get my pc to link into it. WiFi fine, cable no. Spa and sauna were not hot enough so never encouraged me to go back to them. A couple of large blocks to the nearest Metro station. Cheaper hotels closer to the station and metro. Would the them next time instead.
“Not impressed”
Although this hotel is very nice from the lobby, I was disappointed about a few things. First, we booked a room with a double bed, but ended up with an apartment with two bedrooms (with double beds), a living room, and a kitchen. We were happy about this, but unsure why this upgrade had happened. The second day, we noticed that our room had not been cleaned. When asked about this, they said that because we were upgraded, the maid service would only come once during our stay. That never happened in the 4 nights we were there. The front desk could not answer questions about if it was customary in France to not have maid services. I was also put off by the smell of smoke in our apartment. It's hard enough to be around so many smokers in the public areas, we do not want to come home to a smell of smoke in our room. And lastly, and probably not that important, the walls were very dirty in all the rooms. In the main entry way, sections of the walls were falling off. I would imagine it's not that hard to paint a room and fix the wall so that the apartment appears cleaner. On the good side, they were helpful in English when my French was lacking. They had wifi in the lobby. The neighborhood felt safe. I never tried the food in the restaurant, but it smelled wonderful.
“Terrible bedding and noisy, cheap looking room”
Nice and warm welcome at the reception but... - painful spring mattress - the room looks and feels very cheap all around - the rooms facing the atrium have very poor sound insulation... so we got waken up by those taking their breakfast
“Not impressed”
The staff were welcoming and helpful. Half the rooms face on to the attrium which is noisy with the window open. Although they have air conditioning it is ineffective in cooling the room which meant we had difficulty sleeping due to the heat or noise. The dishes and utensils in the kitchen were dirty, and there was nothing to clean them with. The apartment had a dishwasher, but no detergent. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The apartment was a short walk to public transport, but there are few restaurants and bars locally
“Not recommended!!!”
Very disappointed with the half-hearted service we experienced especially from the reception desk staff. To then add insult to injury their in house restaurant was closed and the expensive breakfast was terrible. The staff at the desk were cold and very unhelpful when we attempted to glean information about nearby good eateries. We will never patronize this establishment again, nor will we recommend it to friends or family.
“Lyon Hotel”
The rooms were amazing. It had everything you needed. The kitchen had dishes, cups, cookware, everything. It as hard to leave he room, I would definitely come back again.
“Special price is still too expensive for what's on offer”
We booked at end of March for end of July. I had to throw a tantrum, though, to get parking on a Friday. I couldn't cope with street parking due to amount of luggage. After my tantrum they made a big effort to resolve issues. Kitchen was cramped and equipment was locked away. Only a huge cauldron was supplied for cooking. View was of atrium. Safe was broken. No luggage storeage. Air con was a bit weak for the climate. Room was very quiet and a good size for two. I didn't like the plastic bathroom furniture. The location of the hotel was isolated from local fun. The nearest 'service' was a small pizza take away and a Shell petrol station with attached shop. We failed to purchase breakfast milk as nearest shops were closed much earlier than in UK. Hotel breakfast was at central London hotel prices. Building is new with attractive decor. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Last year, we stayed with a different aparthotel chain near by. We were so impressed with Lyon that we came back for three days. Our ambitions were disappointed, however, due to being in a new office development zone with little fun infrastructure. I'd go for an area with shops and restaurants if I returned. Lyon is a great town, but this facility seems more geared to commerce than leisure.
“Good location, would recommend.”
An excellent hotel being within reasonable walking distance to the old part of the city "Vieux Lyon" We found the hotel to be always kept spotlessly clean and well kept, it also had good standard of facilities available. Service was also very good. The front desk Staff could speak English, if you couldn't speak French and were polite. The downside for some may be noise as the hotel is very near to a train line. Also if your room is in the inner part of the hotel, you do also get noise from the restuarant on the ground floor. But this didn't spoil our stay and we would use again on our next visit! Better Hotel than other hotels used in Lyon that were a lot more expensive.
“Convenient Local to TGV and Subway”
My friends and I used this hotel on our graduation trip. When I first booked it, I didn't know that it was in the business district outside the city. However, it turned out to be a perfect location for us! The hotel was within 10 minutes' walking distance to the TGV station (where you can take trains to any other part of France or even out of the country) and also the subway station to go into the main part of the city. The hotel staff was helpful with our many questions and we had no problems with the room at all. We booked our hotel and flight together, so the rate was pretty good...I'm not sure how it would be otherwise, but overall, I would recommend this hotel as a less expensive but still good alternative to staying right in the main part of the city.
“Class Hotel in the Business sector of Lyon”
Stopped at this hotel on our way to Spain, location was in the business part of Lyon which was a fair drive from the auto route, over the water and along the back and side streets, which we managed to hit as the evening traffic was in full flow. The hotel is very good, room was superb, very up market even had its own kitchen. Parking was in a secure area either in a locked garage or at the back of the hotel, you pay extra for parking, which was expensive. You also may miss the parking entrance when you arrive at the hotel as it is not clear. Room was clean, had a shower ideal after a long drive. Restaurant was near the entrance of the hotel, we are a family of three, me, my wife and our 5 year old boy, all of us are vegetarians, there was nothing on the menu that did not have meat or fish. We tried to order a couple of cheese salads with chips, when they arrived they were two bowls big bowls full of lettuce leaves with olive oil and one plate of chips, I did order a beer which did not arrive and gave in trying to reorder, and we do speak a little French. All in all the meal was a VERY expensive disaster, I had to retrieve some of our food from my vehicle which we had for travelling and eat it in the room. There does not appear to be any other choose near the hotel for food so bare that in mind If you do not eat meat. A Great hotel shame about the restaurant which was very expensive.
