“Grand hotel”
Having previously read the reviews I was a little dubious but when I arrived I was impressed by the staff who were very helpful and easily switched into English. The room we had looked into the centre of the building and was very quiet. Towels, sheets & soap changed every day. Had problem with in room safe which I reported to the front desk. By the time I got back to the room a maintenance man was there. Again he spoke in English and sorted out the problem. Having breakfast included in the price was an advantage. Good area so that you can walk around all the sites.
“A most relaxed four days”
Couldn't rate the staff highly enough for ultra efficiency and friendliness. Breakfast too were excellent.
“friendly and welcoming”
Our first time in a Boscolo hotel was enjoyable and pleasant. Staff were extremely helpful not only in settling into the hotel but also in finding train and bus time tables for a trip outside of the town. It made our travel so much easier.
“Everything is good but breakfast!”
Good location and comfortable beds but I didn't like the breakfast. The croissants were not fresh
“long weekend”
this hotel is quite old but if you make allowances for that you will be happy here, it is clean and pleasant and the staff are very friendly and helpful. breakfast is continental but there is enough choice and it is kept well stocked. the only complaint i would have is that there is a need for tea/coffee facilities in the room as apart from the bar (which is closed during the day) there is nowhere to get a coffee. it is in a convenient location for tourist areas and shopping.
“Very Accomodating”
We were very pleased with our stay here. First, they upgraded us to a very large room with a king size bed. It was beautiful, clean, and service was excellent. When my French faltered, it was no difficulty for the staff to switch to English. Location was excellent for our tourist goals, the elevator worked, and so did the ethernet connection. The only drawback was the air conditioning, which did not work. Since it was May and cool at night, and we were on the top floor we slept with the windows open and all was fine, except for some nightclub or other which played loud music late some nights which came right in through the open windows. No screens, but that way you could step out onto the teeny balcony for a fabulous view of the river lit up at night. They offered to move us immediately, but we were happy with the room, and actually liked the music so stayed put. There were hardly any bugs that came in, and they were teeny and not interested in biting us (at least compared to what we get in Canada in May). Yes, I would definitely come back but would check first to see about the AC if I was coming in summer. A great hotel experience.
“Very reasonable”
For one night in downtown Lyon was more than adequate
“Perfect”
Great hotel. Not too busy but not too quiet when we stayed (late March). Friendly and helpful staff. Great little comfortable bar for an end of the evening night cap. Wonderful location - spent 5 days just walking around Lyon using the hotel as our base. Great restaurants and bars within minutes of the hotel. Only problem with it was that, eventually, we had to leave...
“Well-located hotel in Lyon”
Hotel was very well located on the river by Pont Wilson. Everything was in easy walking distance. Staff were extremely helpful. Rooms were clean and tastefully furnished with good bathroom. Breakfast buffet was very mediocre however. Other hot foods were available but at a price and only one member of staff was available.
“Would not stay at this hotel again or recommend it.”
The Hotel was old, rooms were not clean looking althought I'm sure the were. Air conditioning was very poor for a 4 star hotel..even in Europe.Lobby was not Air conditioned. The mattress was only covered on top with a mattress cover not the box spring/mattress. The overall review of the Hotel was not to my liking and I would not recommend this hotel unless it had a complete overhall. The only good things that I found was the great location.....and the staff.
