“Great hotel, great service!”

My sister and I arrived to the hotel and had to use the side entrance (a couple of feet away) since someone was doing some maintenance work at the front door. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman--probably the manager--who was very apologetic about this. Then, we were met by one of the warmest receptions at a hotel by Ms. Jana who is not only very professional, but makes one feel very welcome with her grace, charm and enormous warmth. She seems to perform her duties with enormous dedication and satisfaction. She is a great asset to the Advena Hotel. The breakfast was very good and in a very aesthetically decorated room that created a wonderful ambience. Its staff was also very pleasant. I only wish they had an electric teapot as we had in London and Strasbourg so that one could make some tea in the evening. Adding a small shampoo bottle would also be a plus. The hotel is only one block from the railroad station and withing walking distance to the center of the city.

“Excellent place to stay”

After some of the Hotels we have stayed in The Advena was a really pleasant surprise. It was so handy to everything in Mainz that we wanted to see, everything was walking distance. The Advena Staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was small but very comfortable plus the wonderful breakfast every morning made such a difference to the day. I would very much recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mainz

“Nice Hotel”

Collegues have stayed here and liked it, so I thought I would give it a try. The big advantage is being 250 yards from the Main Mainz train station and the huge number of bus stops (outside the station). Staff are very friendly, room simple but good. Breakfast is very 'European' with a little bit of a 'fry-up'. Overall, very nice, and I will return. The only problem is the wi-fi, which is 5 euros an hour or 10 euros a day! This is the most expensive I have ever seen anywhere in the world. When I mentioned it to the desk staff they are well aware that the nearby Hammer hotel has free internet. They suggested the policy is under serious review, with a change likely.

“Decent hotel very close to main train station”

The hotel was a convenient walk from Mainz Hbf station, and located a few blocks outside of the older part of the city. Room and hotel were clean, though furniture, carpet and fixtures were older and a bit worn. Staff was friendly, helped us with English maps and directions. Breakfast was excellent. Did not use the restaurant for dinner, but they served some nice wines at the bar.

“Nerviges Hotel”

Die Zimmer sind extrem hellhörig, liegt man im Bett hört man das gesamte Geschehen auf dem Flur, ich konnte kaum schlafen! Hinzu kommt das früh morgens gegen 8 die Putzfrau nacheinander an ALLE Zimmer geklopft hat und irgendetwas unverständliches in gebrochenem Deutsch gerufen hat. Danach hat sie versucht die Tür aufzuschließen, glücklicherweise hatte ich den Schlüssel von innen stecken. Es soll ja Gäste geben die vielleicht etwas länger schlafen wollen! Ein absolutes No-Go! Sauberkeit, Größe und Einrichtung der Zimmer waren in Ordnung und angemessen. Der einzige verfügbare Fahrstuhl ging nicht und es war auch kein "Defekt"-Schild angebracht. Mich hat nur der Hausmeister der rein zufällig vorbei kam darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Viel Spass beim Gepäck über mehrere Etagen die Treppe hoch/runter zu schleppen! (Nein, es gab keinen "Koffer-Boy") Die Lage des Hotels ist gut aber den hohen Preis rechtfertigt dies auf keinen Fall, unter Anbetracht des Gesamteindrucks. Ich kann und werde dieses Hotel definitiv nicht weiterempfehlen.
