“Period building with character”

Nicely decorated hotel in a period building with character. It is away from the action in the City Centre, but only about 15 minutes away by the tram. The restaurant was great with interesting dishes (I had wild boar) and friendly service. Couldn't ask for more for the price I was charged! Good location for driving in. Ample parking at the rear.

“Hotel Heidelberg uber alles”

The Hotel Heidelberg was extremely clean with friendly, helpful staff and not too far away from the city centre to be an inconvenience, the tram stop was close by. The breakfast cost 10 euros but was good value with a wide selection of food. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area , the city was busy with a wide selection of bars and restaurants to suit everyone. We had wondered if our inability to speak good German may be a problem, however everyone speaks good English and go out of their way to help. Heidelberg itself is a beautiful city and a trip up the funicular to the castle is a must. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend a visit.

“Quaint, charming, very knowledgable of the city!”

This great hotel is located outside of Heidelberg, but only about 10 minutes from the downtown area via electric bus. The bus is very easy to use and you can get a cheap pass (Heidelbergcard) that gives you unlimited access to the transportation system and entrance to the area attractions. The hotel sells these and are very helpful in getting you where you need to go! They also set us up with a bicycle company and we rented bikes that they had waiting for us at our hotel in the morning. The room was lovely, very spacious and well-maintained. No air-conditioning, but we did not find that to be a problem even in early July. The restaurant in the hotel was probably one of the best we found in Heidelberg. The staff was great and the food was DELICIOUS. Breakfast was yummy as well. Cereals, bakery items, yogurt, fruit, meats, cheeses, breads, and a few hot items as well.

“Great place to stay in Heidelberg”

I loved the Hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is conveniently located close to the streetcar stop, but not so close for it to be noisy. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

“A brilliant spot”

The hotel is an ideal location. The nearby tram (no. 26) takes you straight to the Alstadt. The service was excellent and all the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide range of cold foods and some hot food as well. We were there before Xmas and the hotel was tastefully decked out for the festive season. The hotel reception also organised our return to Frankfurt airport on a shuttle bus - much more convenient than taking the train.

“NoKettle!”

Convenient location across road from tram terminus. Air conditioning in room. 3rd bed suitable for chilren rather than adult, tho' our ten yr old ended up in the big bed with us - plenty of room & more comfortable! Like most German hotels, no kettle/ facilities for making your own hot drinks.

“Impressed”

This was my first trip to Germany, and I was very impressed with the friendly service throughout my stay. The restaraunt and particularly the breakfast buffet were great. By car, it is a reasonably fast and short drive to the Altstadt, pretty muchly a straight shot. The neighborhood is quiet, on the edge of town, and within a short pleasant walk to banks and stores. It is right on the rail and bus routes, too.
