Cannot say enough about this friendly, inviting and beautiful hotel in Heidelberg! This location and hotel should be on everybody's list, you will not regret it!! From the late check-in, to the fabulous late dinner and beyond excellent breakfast, you will feel special and cared for. I wish all my stays on our two-week journey were this great.

This is a very nice hotel with a great staff that speaks English. Easy to find and located close to a train station for exploring Heidleberg.

I really liked this hotel and the city of Heidelberg (although the hotel is ~40 minutes from the town centre by bus) but the cleanliness of the room was a bit of a letdown: the sort of cleanliness where you don't bother complaining to reception because it's only a stray hair on the sink or a bit of rubbish under the bed, but then you go and write a slightly negative review about the place online afterwards. Seriously though, the staff are lovely, the food is good, and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. Apart from one stray hair and an errant bottle cap, the only thing I could find to fault is that the curtains are too small for the windows and I only discovered the blinds the next morning.

our main problem was the lack of air conditioning in the room. the staff and owner were excellent in their approach to our problem. I would say that the Expedia description was not clear enough for us

Nice Welcome to Germany
Only spent one night here after arriving to Frankfurt from the US. Hotel is a cute and very clean German hotel with a wonderful restaurant with reasonable prices. The tram is a only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. You can buy a ticket from Bianca at the front desk. She was so helpful and speaks perfect English. The ride to old town and the university is about 15 minutes. Wonderful breakfast with many choices....all fresh. Nice welcome to Germany.

Lovely hotel in quiet location
Hotel Heidelberg is in a quiet residential part of the town, quite near the motorway and with lots of free parking. It is a very short walk to a tram stop and takes just about 20 minutes to get into the old town. You can buy the HeidelbergCard and day tram tickets from hotel reception and the staff are really friendly and very helpful with excellent English. The rooms were comfortable, not huge but very adequate and everything was very clean. There was an excellent breakfast buffet.

Comfortable room after a long journey
We arrived to Hotel Heidelberg after a long 7 hour drive in the snow. The gentleman at the front counter was very pleasant to speak with before our arrival and had out documents and key ready for us when we arrived. The front desk closes at 9:00 pm, however, everything we needed was left in a envelope for us. We arrive late in the evening and found our way to a very comfortable, quite, and clean room. Free parking was offered and breakfast was 11 euros. The room was reasonably priced for the accommodations. This hotel was a short drive from down town. Would recommend and stay again in the future.

Great stay!
People were super nice! Breakfast was good, but expensive. VERY close to the tram stop that takes you to downtown, but a little far from town. Quiet neighborhood, but seemed to have a lot of refugees on the train at our stop.

EXCELENT HOTEL Good situation on tram line. Only reason not giving a 5 for service was:- We were not given the bar cade part of Heidelberg pass adn did not get entry to castle and had to return to hotel and get sorted. but luck wee had another day to have a good visit next day

The front desk staff is very friendly and multilingual. The facility is clean with a warm ambiance. The breakfast was fantastic for the price. The beds are very comfortable. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again!

Ideally located hotel
Hotel conveniently located on the outskirts of Heidelberg. Situated at the end of a tram line which goes directly into the centre. Staff were very welcoming and happy to assist with purchase of tram tickets and provide a map of the town. Room had air conditioning which was a godsend as there was a heatwave. Hotel restaurant very good.

The restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent. The food and service were above par. The staff at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. The rooms need a little updating but very clean. I think pillows must be very expensive in Germamy. The two standard pillows and two decorative pillows came up to 2 inches high. But I would recommend the hotel, just bring your own pillow

Handy location with great staff and service
Stayed here a second time based on previous experience. Owners speak excellent English, and will do anything in their power to be helpful. Room and bathroom were small but clean and quiet. Location is just a short walk to the tram that does directly to the center of the city, the alstadt, and the schloss. Breakfast was very nice, and dinner in the restaurant was very good. Excellent value overall.

Convenience location to tram line made stay worth it but hotel very outdated and not the cleanest. Mold on curtains in bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast somewhat disappointing. Reception not always available.

The location was excellent, just a 1 minute walk to get the train to take you downtown. The hotel and room was very neat and clean. The restaurant was in the hotel and had some great food. The menu was in German and English and even the person at the front desk spoke English.

Enjoyed everything about my recent stay at Hotel Heidelberg from the helpful check-in staff to a great dinner in the hotel restaurant. The hotel was also very convenient to a train station that made getting to downtown Heidelberg quick and easy. All this at a reasonable price.

The hotel staff were so nice and accommodating! Clean comfortable rooms near the train for easy access to Heidelberg's sites. The restaurant is outstanding too. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Extremely unfriendly gentleman running the front desk at check in. Came across very rude. Hotel was nice, but a fair distance from Old Towne and tram construction limits use. Bus was recommended, but we ended up driving down and parking. Nice breakfast and ladies at front desk in the morning were very helpful and enjoyable.

Great stay in Heidelberg
Had a lovely stay here. Thought the hotel was of a high standard. Staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Particularly the young gentleman on the front desk when we arrived- he really went out of his way to explain things. Journey in to town and back by tram/ bus was very straightforward.

Lost cost option minutes from downtown
I found this hotel to be an inexpensive option, with convenient parking, a short commute to downtown by bus or car. Despite the lack of air conditioning during a record heat wave, the room was very comfortable at night with the windows open and a fan running.

A tram ride from the town centre
A very nice, friendly hotel. Plenty of parking. You can buy tickets for the tram which is a minute's walk from the hotel (and the end of the line so you can't miss your stop) and takes you to the heart of the city. I only marked it down to 4 because of the first night we used the restaurant. Booked a table for 7.30 and had received our meal, which was very good, by about 8.15. Somebody cleared the table and brought us another drink but, after than, nobody came near or by us and, as we wanted a dessert, at 10 pm we had to physically go and find the waitress and tell her what we wanted while she was dealing with another table. After about 20 minutes the dessert still hadn't arrived so we set off again to find her and she had forgotten so we eventually got our dessert about 10.30. We thought 3 hours for 2 courses was not good. As it was raining the next evening we decided to give it another go and were pleased we did as the service and, again, the food, were excellent.
