“Happy in Heidelberg”

The road repair another guest has complained about was no problem for me in Early April 2011. I am not a fan of an earlier guest who carved his name into the table: Otto Von Bismark, but you don't have to be to like the hotel. The best however is the the dinner in the restaurant. First class. Make sure to take an afternoon walk above Heidelberg on the Philosophers path that starts close to the hotel. A nice sun set makes a good photo opportunity with the Schloss in focus of the warm light of the sunset.

“would not return”

Hotel was absolutely beautiful but due to street construction next to hotel it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get there. It was also very difficult to find. At one point we were trapped at the hotel and could not drive off the premises because of street contruction in ALL directions. It was ridiculous. There was NO air conditioning which was quite surprising for the price of the rooms. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Area recommendations
Great location within easy walking distance to castle and old town area.
Getting there
Very difficult (almost impossible) to find this hotel due to street construction.
Getting around
I would not try to drive anywhere because the street construction requires you to drive 30 minutes out of the way to get across river. At one point roads were closed in all directions and we were trapped at the hotel. Within easy walking distance of castle and old town area but if you need to drive anywhere it is impossible to drive from this hotel due to street construction.
