Prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding

Posted 02-Mar-2015
Pros: Ontspannen sfeer, vriendelijk personeel.

Good central basic hotel

Posted 01-Mar-2015
Pros: Food was okay, lots of veg, little or no meat.
Cons: Weather was very bad when there, tv left a lot to be desired, very small screen, move more than five feet away ... Usless
Location: Out of central area, not a lot to do ... Walk along the shore front.
Basic hotel, basic menu, basic facilities but okay for the money. Very busy, so must be doing something right.

Nice and handy

Posted 11-Feb-2015
Cons: No complimentary tea or coffee in room. Expensive to add wifi - not included. Dinner was OK but not fantastic for the price.
Location: Just an overnight stop before we headed to the south of Iceland.
Couldn't find reservation on arrival and had to send copy of Expedia email to desk clerk to prove booking. Once found, all good. Most of customer contact staff speak good English.

Lovely hotel great for a weekend get away.

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Great hotel perfect for getting to places. Slight walk to town but a lovely walk all the same. I think only thing that let it down was not enough towels (but I'm sure you could ask for more) and no tea and coffee in the room. Perfect place to stay otherwise.

New Year Family Trip 2015.

Posted 11-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
We stayed in superior room on 7th floor with view of sea & mountain. Although superior room & therefore largest, the room was still quite compact with 3 single beds. Superior rooms include free wi-fi which worked fine. Good shower room (no bath). Breakfast included 1 type of cereal, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, salad, bread/toast coffee/tea/hot chocolate. Good location-probably walking distance to town and harbour but we used taxis due to having child with us & limited daylight in January. There was Subway/Nesti shop across road & other shops nearby including chemist, wine shop, small supermarket. Cheap lunch/evening buffet with 1 hot dish & choice of 2 soups with salad etc, tea/coffee/soft drinks included. Only difficulty was we needed to check hot food/soup did not contain celery due to allergy & this was difficult to check for certain. After eating lovely cauliflower soup found a reaction indicated it probably had contained celery despite being told otherwise. Overall good value if you like what they have. Reception staff very helpful & made several telephone calls for us to check trip availability & airport transfers. Small shop for trip bookings/souvenirs. Taxi fare to town/harbour cost approx £10-£11 each way but buses available for less. Had good trip. Would stay there again in future.

Helt ok hotell

Posted 07-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com

Well positioned hotel, short walk from city centre

Posted 05-Jan-2015
Pros: Good position for activities, city access and ease of getting around. Quite a nice out-look from the coastal facing rooms.
Cons: Larger rooms - standard rooms are too small for two people and their bags, storage needed! Drinks tray and more varied meals would be good.
Location: City centre attractions, shopping, restaurants, Old Harbour area for trips, tourist info. very helpful, geo-thermal pools, phallilogical museum!
Hotel room was very small, with little storage. It was very basic with uncarpetted floor, no drinks-making facility in room. The shower room was small and the bathroom fittings were difficult to use as they were squeezed into an inappropriately small space. There was an old television which didn't work. Breakfast was adequate but the evening 'salad bar' which incurred an additional charge, was barely any different to that offered in the morning at breakfast, along with a couple of soup options which were repeated every other day. There was never enough white toasting bread in the morning. The reception staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, and they all gave good local knowledge and advice about the city and things to do. Domestic staff were also very accommodating, replenishing items in good time and they were quick to bring extra pillows when a request was made. The hotel was a 'budget hotel' and served it's purpose for us for the week, but a few extra things like the drinks tray would make such a difference, especially since budget hotel clients may be less able to pay for expensive drinks from the bar during the day. The hotel's position was good, being close to the city centre and sea front, and was served by the local tour operators. Swimming pools were close by, shopping and good restaurants were within walking distance. Internet access was ok but one of the computers was poorly set up for ease of use - resolution properties were not set.
