“wonderful”
the staff were very accommodating and will never be forgotten!
“Hotel Bjork - nice & clean”
I was happy with my stay in this hotel. Very quiet area, great for sleep in. Breakfast - fresh, not massive selection but good. It's a bit of a walk from main street with all the shops and restaurants.. I'd say 20 mins or so. But all tour providers know this hotel so it's easy to be picked up. Room was clean, smaller, comfy single bed, some UK channels on tv . Helpfull staff. Overall positive experience.
“Shhhhh. It's hotel Bjork”
It's only a 15 min walk into the very centre of Reykjavik, and although the surrounding area is not pretty, it is very quiet. Staff are fantastic. I was let down when a tour bus failed to turn up but the receptionist sorted everything out within a few minuites. I would use the booking service at the hotel next time. Looking forward to a second visit.
“Clean, comfortable and good food”
Good location just 20 minutes walk from the city centre and close to most of the shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom rather small. The restaurant attached to the hotel was good value for money.
“A comfortable place to stay...”
Hotel Bjork is one of those places that you will find to be inexpensive, desirable, and a comfortable place to stay at. You will find the hotel staff very friendly, willing to book your Icelandic tours, help with getting you a cab locally or a bus to the airport, and they are up to suggesting where to eat. The staff will answer any question you have and even suggest a doctor if needed. The room was clean, and had a fresh smell (except when the heat came on and you smelled sulfur for a bit). The bathroom was clean, the sheets were crisp and white on the bed. The hotel is very gay friendly (several gay couples staying at the hotel commented on their stay). The location of the hotel is close to downtown (within a 10 minute walk) and close to other attractions. The restaurant in the hotel had a basic complimentary buffet, and enough to satisfy you for the morning. The dinner and lunch menu will suffice your Icelandic culinary needs with fresh fish dinners with locally grown produce. You will find the hotel and the surroundings very quiet. Sometimes too quiet. The scenary from the hotel rooms arent that great but not a disadvantage. There is also a 24 hour grocery store 2 blocks away from the hotel if needed and a boutique cheese store for your cheese needs. Overall, this stay at Hotel Bjork was favorable and to my needs. This hotel made my trip to Iceland very memorable. One thing, the hotel is NON-SMOKING. A drawback for smokers.
“Good”
Hotel is good and the staff were very helpful. Based about 10-15 mins walk outside of the old town area if you do not fancy walking there seems to be good bus links from near by.
“Good service, but a bit of a walk from city center”
This hotel is about a 15 - 20 minute walk from the city center, which isn't that big of deal, unless it's raining. Then it becomes terribly inconvenient if you need a place to eat at night. The only restaurants around the hotel are the one in the hotel (which is pretty good) and Ruby Tuesday. Reykjavik appears to be a drunken party town on the weekend, so if you need some peace and quite away from the city center, this isn't a bad option. It's on the pick-up list for all the major tour companies, so it's a good hopping point for all of your day trips out into the Icelandic countryside.
“Hotel Bjork was great!”
This hotel was more than we expected! Sometimes small hotels in Europe are a bit dingy, but the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable, we had a view of the sea, the breakfast buffet was really great, and the shower was actually a comfortable size and water didn't leak all over the flood. The location is a bit out of the way from the major downtown, but it's a quick 15-20 minute walk to all the main spots in downtown Reykjavik and the airport buses drop you off and pick you up (no pick up with fly bus but the bus depot is a 25 minute walk). The great thing about being out of the way is that the street is extremely quiet at night. Oh, and the hotel has free and fast wifi. We would definitely stay here again!
“Great experience!”
The Hotel Bjork was a very good choice. The Expedia pricing was lower than those quoted on other travel sites and the updates and confirmations we received were well appreciated. The front desk personnel were always friendly and helpful. Our room had a great view of the water, was very comfortable, and had a hot water maker for tea/coffee. There was an included breakfast buffet which was European (no waffles, omelets, pastries) and included assorted meats, cheeses, breads, yogurt, cold cereal, vegetables, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee. The free inroom WIFI was great! The hotel location is just about a 5-10 minute walk from the main shopping street and is one block from a 24/7 grocery store - nice and convenient. There are lots of restaurants on the main shopping street as well as a Ruby Tuesday just across the street. The hotel does have an elevator which came in very handy for getting to the 3rd floor with 3 large bags. The tours we signed up for did pick ups and drop offs right to our door - very convenient. I would definitely recommend the hotel Bjork for anyone traveling to Iceland.
“convenient”
its seems eveyone in iceland is helpful, organised and efficient and our hotel was no different. 20 min walk in to town on one straight line. very easy. they booked our tours, bus tickets, printed
