Great location...close to shops and restaurants

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Bathrooms
Location: Everything was within walking distance!
We loved our visit to Iceland. The people were wonderful. Our suite had a great sitting area. The only complaint was the shower....hard to get in and out of and the noise from the bars into the wee hours. However, we would definitely stay there again!

Great location and awesome breakfast

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: BREAKFAST!
Cons: Help to look for a parking spot?
Location: It was great location. You can walk to everything.
The hotel was located in the center of everything. The room was small but very modern and cute. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was beautiful...the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. Only down side of it is that there's no parking. You have to look for a meter parking, which could be tough since it is in the most happening area.

Great hotel with very small rooms

Posted 10-Jun-2015
The hotel was centrally located and elegant but the standard queen room was very, very small. It seemed like a "teaser" because the lobby signage encouraged transitioning to a more reasonably size space for an additional fee. I would be cautious about rentals in the future and read the room size carefully .

Helpful staff, great location

Posted 03-Jun-2015
I picked this hotel based on a combination of location and price. I'd never been to Reykjavik and wanted a hotel that would give me walking access to the places I'd be going as a first time tourist. It turned out to be a great location with access to plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, and cafes, as well as major sights to see such as Hallgrimskirkja and the harbor, while still being on a pretty quiet street itself. Complimentary breakfast every morning was delicious, all the staff were very polite and helpful, the front desk has a great concierge service and will help you book tours as well as give general advice about how to get around the city and where to go. The room was also just fine, and the bathtub was awesome! =) My only complaint is that the bathroom door is just frosted glass and doesn't really seal like a normal door, so when you are in there it doesn't really feel like you have true privacy (the people in the main room can hear every little sound you make) which might be an annoyance for some people.

Perfect, centrally located hotel - highly recommen

Posted 31-May-2015
Pros: Everything - considerate staff, contemporary furnishings, comfortable rooms and quiet.
Cons: Maybe the dimmer switch for the room's lighting could be by the door as well as next to the bed.
Location: Very central location, about ten steps away from the main shopping street, so everything was within easy reach.
Very friendly staff to whom nothing is a problem - they even served us breakfast at 3 a.m.! Our room was fine, other reports have said they found the rooms small, but we found it ok. Bed was comfortable and huge. Ambient lighting in the room - all in all just perfect. Would definitely recommend to friends and would return there ourselves.

Great location, great hotel and restaurant.

Very quick trip but enjoyed it very much. Only complaint is that when the curtains are shut in the room there is not much light given off by lights and lamp and in bathroom

Great stay at this hotel

Posted 27-May-2015
Pros: Perfect location. Stylish design. Awesome staff. The waffle maker at breakfast. Good wifi.
Location: Shopping, bars, cafes, restaurants, harbour, waterfront. Great coffee everywhere and the whipped butter with flavoured salt crystals!
Great staff, really friendly and helpful on any request. Stylish hotel yet practical. I stayed with my friend in a deluxe room which was big enough for 2 friends. Our first room 116 was dark and looked out at a wall. They moved us the next day to 310 which was lovely and light. The only slight problem is on Friday and Saturday nights when the bars and clubs play loud music from 1-4am which isn't a problem with some ear plugs. Alternatively join the fun!

Small hotel close to shopping street

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: The Gray Line airport transfer/tour bus terminal is just around the corner, about three minutes walk.
Cons: The buffet breakfast was plentiful, but was the same each morning. More variety would have been good!
Location: The hotel is in the centre and is just off the main shopping street. It is easy to walk to the harbour, and to the lake.
We had a room on the top floor at the back and it was very quiet The staff were very helpful and cheerful and obliging.
