Reasonably priced, large, modern room very close to the main shopping and tourist area. It's also nestled in a residential area, which was a plus for us, as we didn't want to be next to the clubbing/nightlife area. But if those are for you, luckily all the bars are only about three blocks away so you can get the best of both worlds. Our hotel was under construction, which was kind of annoying as the workmen started working around 7:30 or so and our room had a view of the dirty roof and construction site. The bathroom was huge and had a tub, a rare occurrence in our experience of Iceland.
We ate dinner at Snaps right below the hotel. It's an absolutely adorable French-inspired restaurant with very reasonably priced (for Iceland) good food.

Modern hotel in a quiet, city-centre district, located 400 metres from Laekjartorg Square, and off Laugavegur, the main …More
Lovely apartment, everything you need and more like an Apple TV with recent films on, coffee maker and lovely furnishings. Apartment was really close to the tour sales office where you get meet for all the tours. Would highly recommend to anyone
Having stayed at numerous hotels ( some much more expensive!) I have never experienced a hotel staff, without exception, who went out out their way to not only make me feel special but but also went out of their way to assist me in recovering my luggage temporarily lost by the airline, including making several phone calls and volunteering to go pick it up When the airline (IcelandAir) refused to deliver it the hotel as promised.
My adult daughter and I spent four nights at this hotel in a twin room from 14th October 2014. We arrived at the hotel extremely early - 11 am - but were fortunate enough to be able to check in and go straight to our room. The room was clean and spacious and the beds wonderfully comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge in the room. We used the free bus pass provided by the hotel to go into the city on two occasions, which was really convenient as most of the buses stop right outside the hotel. We booked a snowmobiling experience via the hotel and were really pleased to find that no commission was charged. There is a 10/11 (24 hr convenience store) just around the corner from the hotel, which was useful as we were staying on a room only basis. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
