I have stayed in every single high end hotel in Buenos Aires and by far this is the best, great rooms but more than that the staff is really incredible. Everyone is doing their best to make you feel comfortable.

The Alvear Art Hotel emerges as an innovative proposal in Buenos Aires, upheld by the tradition of the Alvear Palace Hotel …More
Staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Location is in a ritzy area of town so to experience more culture, visit places like Palermo and Villa Crespo and San Telmo all of which are easy to get to from the hotel by taxi.
Room of great even after I got moved.
Lifts are a stair walk to reception very strange.
Beds very comfortable room dull
Staff very very helpful and friendly
Hotel needs modernising.
But good position in city
Didn't cost a lot so no real complaints
The hotel is great. The location is good, in a calm and wealthy part of the city. The facilities are also great as is the look, feel and comfort of the hotel. However, the staff are not very friendly at reception and not happy to assist when asked questions. They are slow to attend to customers and seem to almost ignore. The thing that impacted my experience negatively came at the end when we had to go to the international airport. The staff communicated this to the taxi driver but, little did we know, there were two international airports, across town from each other. This would seem to be a fact that a hotel chain such as the Sofitel should know and the staff should have the insight to ask. Turns out we missed our flight, had to pay a significant amount for the taxi to the correct airport, which ended up being only about 10 minutes from the Sofitel, versus the 40 mins that we had to travel to the wrong airport. This just seems like such an important detail for the Sofitel to know to ensure their international clientele are not put out. Really disappointing and I hope they improve this in the future!
Packed with high-end shopping venues, upscale architecture, and historic monuments, Retiro is also a transportation hub with long-distance buses and railways. Take in a show at Borges Cultural Center or ride the elevator to the top of Torre de los Ingleses for sweeping views. The heart of Retiro, Plaza San Martin, offers the perfect place to relax in the shade under verdant treetops.
