“Perfect weekender !!!”

Perfect for a long weekend, staff absolutely so friendly and did not bother us. Rooms cleaned to perfection, great spot with having a balcony and listening to the music in the evening & on check out they allowed us to keep our room until later on - definitely will be back very soon !!!

“Hotel Cartier is a great place to stay!”

Lovely hotel, would definitely recommend to others, concierge was very nice, breakfast was marvellous!! Next time we are in St Malo, we will definitely stay at Hotel Cartier again! Thank you from two happy travellers, from New Zealand.

“Nice little hotel-great location”

A friend and I arrived in mid September after a week in Paris...it was pouring rain on arrival so it was great that from St Vincent gates where the bus dropped us off we were only a four minute walk away. central abnd surrounded by lovely shops and restaurants. You MUST try the Ker-Y -Pomme pastries...wow..amazing...also the Caramel Buerre Sale crepes!!! The caramel beurre sale is particular to the Britanny region..as are the Ker-Y -Pomme pastry. You have to try the oysters!!!! Anyway a great time there...plenty of things to eat and drink! ( try the Muscatel with seafood or the Britaany cider) Nice little hotel...quiet and comfortable...however the shower could have been cleaner. Friendly staff too!!

Area recommendations
You must walk out the entrance gates of St Vincent and go around the City " counter clockwise" It is a spectacular site. You may also want to take the ferry to Dinard about a 10-15 min boat ride over. Just meander all over this beautiful medieval city!!...and don't forget to pop into the cathedral...you will see the " resting spot" for Jacques Cartier...most special if you are a Canadian...but all the little food spots are wonderful and reasonable! We walked eveywhere. We came by train..when you arrive and walk out the exit doors ..go to the street ahead and look for the bus shelter...get C1 opr C2 and it takes you right to St Vincent Gates...the entrance to the city!

“Lovely Hotel”

The hotel itself is small "but perfectly formed", the staff were exceptionally helpful and spoke excellent English. The rooms are quite compact but very comfortable and my room requests were all met. We had a small balcony overloooking the street, which was very nice. Facilities in the room were good, and the beds comfortable. We didn't have breakfast but it looked delicious and was reasonably priced. Overall this was a great choice for a short stay in St Malo, and we would definitely stay again when we go back. There are loads of restaurants in close proximity for evening meals and lunches. The hotel was better than I expected for the cost, so good value too.

Area recommendations
The old walled town of St Malo is truly delightful and I would recommend that anyone needing to stay overnight at least visits this area. It's full of character, with lots of shops and restaurants lining the old walls. You can walk around the town on most of the old walls, which affords you a lovely view of the port from the ramparts. Very impressive!

“Hôtel Cartier”

L'hôtel est idéalement situé mais de toute évidence il profite de cette situation géographique exceptionnelle pour appliquer un très mauvais rapport qualité/prix. C'est la première fois depuis que je voyage et que je réserve sur internet (bientôt 10 ans) que je vais donner un avis défavorable à un hôtel. La chambre est minuscule (je pouvais ouvrir la porte depuis le lit). Nous avons du mettre notre valise en haut de l'armoire de la chambre car il n'y avait pas d'emplacement pour la ranger. La propreté de la chambre laissait plus qu'à désirer : poussière, traces de mains sur les miroirs, traces "suspectes" sur la porte d'entrée et dans la minuscule armoire où nous devions ranger nos affaires. Au sol, l'hôtel a eu la mauvaise idée de mettre de la moquette. Puisque qu'il n'y a pas "d'entrée" dans la chambre celle-ci à pris les odeurs des balades maritimes des clients précédents ... La salle de bain est également minuscule : madame, n'espérez pas pouvoir vous maquiller si monsieur se rase ... ce sera chacun votre tour. Pour finir, l'insonorisation n'est absolument pas suffisante tant vers l'extérieur que l'intérieur de l'hôtel. Pour notre retour de St Malo nous avons fait une étape et sommes descendus dans un hôtel 2 étoiles qui était bien plus satisfaisant.

“Hôtel Cartier à St Malo : idéal pour les ballades intra-muros”

L'hôtel est idéalement situé intra-muros tout près d'excellents restaurants (rue de la corne de cerf). J'avais cependant une petite chambre qui convient à une personne seule, plus difficilement à un couple car l'espace entre le mur et le lit d'un côté (côté rue) était vraiment minimum , idem pour les rangements. Avis cependant positif compte tenu de l'emplacement remarquable (attention cependant aux possibilités de parking en haute saison) et de la propreté des chambres récemment refaites.

“Accueil très chaleureux et sympathique pour motard !”

Un très bon rapport qualité-prix ! Accueil très chaleureux, très bien placé, et surtout petits services sympathiques pour motards! (Comme garder un œil sur votre moto la nuit ou garder votre sac le jour du départ). Chambre petite mais à l état neuf et propreté irréprochable !! Décoration attirante, pleines de petites intentions, à conseiller !
