“Fine for what it is”

We booked this hotel for a stopover while driving across France. We knew from other reviews that it was away from the centre of Reims and in a not particularly attractive area. Its location turned out to be not nearly so grim as we had feared - it's immediate surroundings are other, similar hotels. The hotel receptionist could not have been more helpful in providing maps and directions for getting into Reims proper (where we ate dinner) and while the road network was "interesting" we didn't have any serious problems finding our way. A perfectly acceptable budget hotel for a night's stopover.

Area recommendations
While Reims Cathedral is of course worth seeing, don't miss the eleventh century Basilique St Remi, a big abbey-church some 15- 20 minutes walk from the cathedral. To our minds, it was more beautiful (lots of arches) and we were the only people there.
