Needs improvement to be a three-star!

Pros: Air-conditioned!!! We were there during a heat-wave and it was wonderful to have air-conditioning that actually worked! Location!
Cons: Reception staff friendliness and English language skills. Everything in the hotel needs updating or refreshing.
Location: Location is excellent - steps from main railway station and Tram stop. Very near the main restaurant area, cathedral, museums, shopping.
One of the reception staff (unfortunately didn't get her name) was excellent -- friendly, good English, helpful; others were surly and spoke little English. The room was a bit shabby; cleaning staff did not replace toilet paper on three days (of an 8-day stay). Maintenance required: drains in bath tub and sink didn't pop open; bedside lights didn't work. Breakfast was very, very sparse -- and in no way worth the cost.

Very Handy for Station

Location: Hotel is handily placed for bars/restaurants on Place Drouet d'Erlon. Short walk to Cathedral and main shopping area
Chose hotel for short 2 night champagne break. We chose a Privilege Room which was nicely decorated (Room 332). The only downside was there being no mirror in the bedroom itself, despite there being plenty of room for one. The bathroom appeared smart with new shower, however the design was an open plan shower which made it impossible to have a shower without flooding the bathroom floor

Fine with some issues

This hotel is in a good location in central Reims with large rooms but we had a few issues. It is a bit dated in places but being refurbished but feels a bit like it is struggling to move into the modern world in hotel terms, not uncommon in French hotels. It is being refurbished at the moment and we had a renovated room. However the renovation did not include a shower screen or curtain in our room, consequently everything got wet when showering. Complaining to reception got nowhere at first and secondly we were told they were full and nothing could happen despite the suggestion that they could fit a screen. We also had a nice looking but not working door handle which meant if shutting the door whilst inside the bathroom, you were effectively locked in. This was fixed but took two fairly lengthy discussions at reception to sort out.

Comfortable and Convenient

I made this reservation last minute and was overall pleased with my stay. The room was large and comfortable and the hotel is a 2 min walk to shops/restaurants. We had a room on the 2nd floor facing the street which was quite loud at night, other than that a great stay.

Very helpful staff. Gave many suggestions of places to visit, etc. and even helped call to arrange a tour of a local Champagne house. The bar is great with a very personable bartender. Room has a very modern feel. Had an issue getting enough hot water in the shower, but it started to kick on at the end. Great location and easy to walk to most attractions, including the cathedral. Overall nice hotel.

Cons: Qualified staff on duty at all times. liaise properly with Expedia on the relation of what was booked to what rooms were actually given.
I really just needed basic rooms for my party of 8 to rest their heads on a long journey, but the hotel did not give the bed setup in the rooms that were paid for on Expedia leaving people having to sleep in the same bed who barely knew each other. Our room smelled awful, and the noise outside the window went on until 2a.m. The front desk employee on duty, well it was his first day and he wasn't able to clear up the confusion over our rooms or be of much use in getting the wifi despite giving his best try. Breakfast was a pleasant contrast.

Easy walking distance to restaurants and sights and easy to find. Hotel has promise but very tired inside. Beds and pillows lumpy and no tea/coffee making facilities. No frills!!!

Great hotel, very convenient and friendly staff. Loved the bar downstairs and Jacque behind the bar!! The beds were extremely comfortable. Bathroom fairly compact but to be expected for this type of hotel. Overall, great stay, would recommend.
