An in-trip change of reservation date made via the Internet was not processed, either through the fault of Expedia's booking system or the hotel. We tried to change the booking by phone, but were told this was not possible. So Expedia's system was irritatingly inflexible and inefficient. When we arrived at the hotel (a day earlier as arranged, to the best of our knowledge, via the Internet), the staff had no knowledge of the booking, but fortunately a room was available. The staff were friendly and helpful. On signing out, the member of staff neglected to provide a receipt for a cash payment, so we had no proof of payment, but there were no other problems.
