Comfortable, but a little TLC required to bathroom
The room itself was basic but perfectly adequate for a one night stop, though it would havd been nice to ha e a proper cup rather than paper for hot drinks in the room. We had evening dinner and breakfast, both of which were fine. The main let down was the bathroom- when using the tap in the sink it came off in my hand (you had to be very careful when using it). Bathroom generally very tired looking, just 2 bath towels & no hand towel available

We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a friendly staff member for check in. The rooms were basic and clean. Free parking outside the room. The breakfast was plentiful. Perfect overnight for travelling close to the motorway.

Comfortable pit stop. Clean and friendly. In an industrial park so a bit desolate but a town is nearby and there there are many delicious food options.

Check in fine and staff friendly. Room OK except bathroom. WC difficult to flush; vinyl bathtub with shower over was slippery and no handle. Basin had large cracks and, if lent on when getting out of bath/shower, could shatter. Very dangerous!

the hotel was in the middle of renovating, so the facilities for a proper evening meal wasn't available, Breakfast was provided in a bag for you which had enough in there which was fine

In transit stay.
Excellent standard of accommodation for the price. Service in restaurant in evening was friendly but poor as a number of options were not available - advised after ordering - and when selected meal served it was cold and had to be sent back. Then due to delays, dessert was cancelled by us but upon receiving bill in morning dessert was still charged. Other than evening restaurant experience, stay was fine.

The member of staff who was on reception was one of the rudest people I have met, he obviously doesn't like English people as he practically ignored us as far as he could!

Tired but value for money.
The hotel is a little tired, and out of town, so not much I. The immediate area. Disappointing that the parking was not secure, missing fencing and the security gate wasn’t in use.

We had two rooms booked and they were at opposite sides of the hotel - not good. We asked to be near each other and we’re told the hotel was fully booked. We had booked our rooms several weeks ahead of our stay

Good, simple overnight stop for travellers
The hotel offers basic accomodation, perfect for an overnight stop en route back to the UK. I've stayed twice now, and it is very well located near the A4 / A26 / N44. The rooms are basic, but the site is quiet, the bed is very comfortable, and the window shutter totally blocks the light - I slept really well. There is a restaurant next to the accommodation which offers simple food, although the buffet breakfast is overprived at €10 - I won't bother next time and will find a cafe.

Just a stopover hotel. Don’t stay for any longer. In an industrial area, so quite noisy at night with deliveries. Restaurant on site with limited menu. Room fairly clean, but hairs in bath/shower.

Stop-over on our journey south. Room is typically clean and bed linen crisp. The room now really needs a makeover. The location is great, just off the main road from REims to Vitry le Francoise. Shopping nearby and less that a kilometre to the town centre.

This Campanile does not ring my bell.
Room internally & externally was scruffy. No hand towels. No waste bin in room. No hot water for shower at 9pm. Refused ingredients for second cup of coffee to make in room. Receptionist muttered to herself when politely asked for a breakdown of the bill.

An in-trip change of reservation date made via the Internet was not processed, either through the fault of Expedia's booking system or the hotel. We tried to change the booking by phone, but were told this was not possible. So Expedia's system was irritatingly inflexible and inefficient. When we arrived at the hotel (a day earlier as arranged, to the best of our knowledge, via the Internet), the staff had no knowledge of the booking, but fortunately a room was available. The staff were friendly and helpful. On signing out, the member of staff neglected to provide a receipt for a cash payment, so we had no proof of payment, but there were no other problems.

Easy to find and value for money.
This is a good value stopover. You get what you pay for so no complaints. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was no mould in the bathroom! The breakfast was good with plenty of choice considering the price. The coffee was very good too. The breakfast room and reception was very clean . Reception staff was friendly and welcoming and parking was secure . The main building could do with a make over as it has peeling paint and looks shabby but inside it is not so bad. Easy to find, well signposted near a busy road so some road noise with windows open. Good air conditioning.

Convenient and good value for money
A first generation Campanile that offers good value for money and serves as a convenient stopover, close to the motorway and to the interesting town of Chalons - en - Champagne. The beds are very comfortable and the restaurant has already been renovated and there is a promise of refurbished rooms by the end of 2015, which are showing their age. We had a pleasant dinner, but struggled a bit with the new menu which offers various formulae of starters and desserts, but masks a restricted choice for the main courses.

Perfectly adequate stopover.
Simple stopover on journey through France. Bedroom block across car park from restaurant/reception. Odd check in, guy looks at me, smiles and then walks off before coming back a few minutes later. Perfectly adequate room but like all French non smoking rooms stinks of smoke! Could do with better signposting for entrance. Restaurant open on Sundays.

Coinvenient location
We stayed for one night on our route to Italy. This was a typical Campanile but hotel but in desperate need of a make-over. It was convenient for our stay but nothing more - one of the most uncomfortable nights we had throughout our whole trip.
