“Very nice”

“Great location”

Excellent city centre hotel. Limited facilities (pool and gym both very small) and small bedroom but modern funky fittings. Great hotel bar - used by locals and when we were there Mumm champagne promotion night added to ambience. Did not try restaurant which serves breakfast only but many cafes etc within a couple of minutes walk. If going by car as we did makes great sense to pre-book the car park as there are limited spaces. Friendly, helpful staff on reception. Location could not be better if you want to be in city centre - about 1 mile to main cluster of champagne caves which are on east side of Reims and reasonably pleasant walk or you can drive as parking available at the champagne houses

“Centrally Located”

“Great location from which to explore Reims and Champagne region”

This is a comfortable hotel with good service and amenities (breakfast, pool) that makes it suited for a business trip, couple visiting the Champagne region, or a family. We booked two comfort rooms to accomodate a family of six. The rooms were set up with two twin beds set up as a king, and small sofa that slept one. The location is perfect, walking distance from the gare (train station), and right off the primary street for restaurants and shops in the tourist area. It is just a short (walking) distance to the Cathedral. Reims is a convenient getaway from Paris via high speed train (less than one hour). We were able to rent a car in town and then explore the broader region using Reims as our base. The kids very much enjoyed the pool. The concierge recommended a great brasserie for dinner. An overall satisfying stay.

Getting around

Take the train from Paris and rent a car in Reims to explore the region. Plan your schedule carefully though on weekends as the car rental company hours are limited on Sunday, and returning a rental car on Sunday in France can also be challenging as many of the petrol stations are closed.

Must see

Recommend visiting the Cathedral in Reims, and visiting the Champagne cellars -- particularly Pommery. Both their 30 min and 1 hour tours available in (at least) English and French take you deep underground to learn about Champagne, see millions of bottles of various sizes, and view some interesting historic wall carvings (chalk) and modern art.

Dining

Highly Recommend Brasserie Martin for lunch or dinner (half block away), was recommended by the Concierge.

“Another great stay at de la Paix”

This hotel is superb. The rooms are outstanding with all that could be required and more (we had a bath and a separate walk-in shower). Efficient check-in and check-out too. Minor issue with the cleanliness of the public areas surrounding the lifts

Champagne tasting at the various houses. The ancient and famous cathedral where the Kings of France were crowned.

“Great hotel, great location”

Great hotel. Room was lovely, modern and very comfortable. Hotel staff all very helpful & friendly. Parking under hotel was convent and secure. Gym good. Location was excellent for cafes / restaurants which was why we didn't eat in the hotel at all. Reims is not huge anyway, but the hotel is close enough to all the sights and even within walking distance of a lot of the champagne houses. We would definitely go back.

“Very comfortable and convenient -but why so expensive for breakfast?”

We have stayed at De La Paix before in Reims and again we weren't dissappointed with the hotelservice and the accomodation and can highly recommend it. However, the only in hotel breakfast option is €15 for a buffet which is just too expensive. We went just around the corner -right out of the hotel, first right and along to the end of that street where there was an excellent place at half the price.

The cathedral is outstanding and the second world war surrender museum worth a quick trip

On this trip we tried Table d'Anna (dinner) and Grand Cafe (lunch). both excellent!

“Hotel Staff Needs an Attitude Adjustment”

Unfortunately, location and cleanliness doesn't outweight staff and the staff in this hotel were not at all helpful or pleasant. There was an arrogance about most of the people we dealt with - front desk, housekeeping and room service. They seemed bothered when asked questions or when we asked for help. For example, the heat in our room didn't work and when we called for a service technician, the gentleman who came up did NOTHING but tell us that the heat didn't work. He basically THREW a heavy blanket at us and said just deal with it. We asked to change rooms and they said they had no availability. We had stayed in 4 other hotels in France up to that night and didn't have one unfortunate experience with staff. It was really unfortunate. On a bright note...we had a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant with wonderful service and great food.

“Perfectly Adequate”

The hotel was fine, clean and pleasant. Although there parking is limited there is a 24hr multi-story just opposite for exactly the same as the hotel parking and just as safe. Good location within a two minute walk of the centre. Take breakfast out in a local cafe or patisserie and save yourself the money.
