"Not doing their part to save water in CA"
The room that we stayed in was fine, however, I have a few complaints about the experience. First, our room that we booked on Expedia was a King room. BE WARNED - just because you select a certain bed type on Expedia, does not mean that they transfer that request to the hotel. When we got to our room, it was a double bed, and when I asked about if there was a King room available, they stated that booking through sites like Expedia does not guarantee your bed selection, as the bed selection is not communicated to the hotel. Second, and the more pressing issue, is the state of California is in the middle of one of it's worst droughts in recent history. When I go to any other hotel, they give me the option of saving water by re-using my towels, when I will be staying multiple nights at the hotel. I took three showers, and each time, I hung the towel back up to reuse the next day, and the hotel replaced ALL of the towels anyway! Holiday Inn should be doing its part to help in the drought issues in CA, and while I understand that some people may want fresh towels, I did everything I could to indicate that I wanted to re-use my towels, and the water was wasted on washing them anyway. I would rather re-use my towel than have to ration the amount of water I drink to deal with the drought. Holiday Inn should seriously reconsider its policies.
