Our villa was well-maintained, modern and in an amazing spot right on the beach front. Facilities were good: we loved the outdoors shower to freshen up after a dip in the lagoon just out the front. Speaking of the lagoon, definitely go for a snorkel right out front! It's teeming with all sorts of interesting marine life, and you may be able to borrow some leave-behind equipment from the laundry room if available.
Owners Jane and Phillip are great hosts as well; very friendly, and full of local knowledge to help you get the most out of your stay in this little paradise. They were also generous enough to drop us off at the airport for our transfer to Aitutaki.
Although the weather wasn't very kind to us for a large part of our stay in Raro, we still had a good time, partly thanks to the villa being in good condition.
One thing to keep in mind: airplane noise can be thunderous. This can be annoying in the early AM, but I won't deduct any points for this as we knew this going in. However if you're sensitive to this, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
