Nice Villa located central Muri

Posted 05-Jul-2015
Pros: It was located in a great position in Muri. I loved the staff and the groundsman, the facilities and how clean it was
Cons: The beds needed replacing and the two large rattan chairs in lounge needed thick padding.
Location: Central Muri, awesome. Easy walk to 2 shops, 5 min walk to yum food market. Lagoon right there, scooter hire really close
We found the staff and the grounds to be amazing. The staff were friendly, not intrusive, but always about if you needed something. I was particularly impressed with the great range of reading books available, free, to borrow from the office. The few issues we had were sorted quickly. The location was perfect. Easy walk to shops, food market, facilities, and really close to lagoon and beautiful pool area. The grounds were immaculate. There were plenty of chooks, roosters and dogs everywhere but everything was perfectly clean. The dogs were all really really friendly. The villa also had kayaks available and it was great when the groundsman helped us put them in the water and pick the best ones etc, just one example of how lovely the people were. My only disappointment was the villa, in parts. The location and set up, room layout etc was awesome, but the 2 chairs in the sitting area were very uncomfortable. My biggest disappointment was that we had 2 single beds put together to make a large bed. Not really what I was hoping for on a holiday without the kids... The beds were made beautifully, lovely linen, but very uncomfortable. Would I recommend it.......yes......would i sleep in the beds again....NO. Thanks for a great stac

Manea Honeymoon

Posted 27-Apr-2015
Pros: Kayaks and snorkelling gear available for free use (including reef shoes). Friendly, helpful and hospitable staff.
We're a couple who wanted to avoid resorts, have self-catering options but still enjoy a quietish location, a clean and pretty place to stay and scenic views. Manea Beach Villas was all of that. We appreciated that it's an easy walking distance to Muri beach and township which included a good range of restaurants and an awesome local night market! Having the marine reserve lagoon right outside our door made snorkelling an amazing experience.

Fantastic location

Posted 13-Mar-2015
We stayed in the one bedroom villa Manea 4, which is the closest one bedroom villa to the swimming pool and beach and had fantastic views. There is someone in the office to early afternoon during the week but nobody during the weekend. This wasn't an issue for us. The handyman was very friendly and gave us some local information. Bananas and pawpaw grew right at our back door and were lovely. On average the unit was swept out every two days and towels replaced every two days. We stayed for 12 nights and sheets were replaced once. Toilet paper not replaced on a regular basis so we brought our own. No stove but there is an electric frypan and microwave. Also a BBQ but it was rusty so we didnt use it. Twice we didnt have any hot water and had to advise the handyman. He quickly fixed the problem but issues could have been rectified by a regu maintenance programme. The pool was lovely but regularly they ran out of chlorine and on these days pool wasnt very nice. The bathroom curtain didnt cover the entire window so we had to put up a towel as well so the neighbors couldnt see in. Overall a lovely complex in the best part, we felt, of Rarotonga. Excellent snorkeling in the lagoon and very safe swimming for children. Canoes and snorkeling gear available free. Plenty of lovely places to eat at in walking distance. We would stay there again.

Close to the beach, quiet area

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Clean and tidy. Had every thing we needed
Location: The northern end of Muri Beach, i thought was the prettiest part. Very close to other restaurants and local evening markets.
We had a fantastic stay. The accommodation was great, quiet area and good swimming. The lagoon was shallow at low tide. We kayaked around the islands in the lagoon at high tide. From Manea Beach Cottages its a short walk (either by road or beach) to restaurants, the local evening markets and car hire places. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location for a relaxing getaway

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: Perfect location, relaxed atmosphere with very helpful staff
Cons: The only thing that I personally didn't like was the shower tap which was difficult to get a reasonable amount of pressure while on cold settings
Location: Awesome location on the edge of the lagoon, close to restaurants and food shops for nic naks inc. Alcohol.
Had a very relaxed time with friends and partner doing all that we could fit in too a short 7 day stay. Definitely recommend the progressive dinner and Mexican restaurant which both had excellent food. People of Roratonga are among the friendliest I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Fantastic location in the heart of muri beach. Walking distance to everything!! This property is right on the stunning beachfront. Also has a swimming pool, kayaks & snorkel gear. Wouldn't bother staying anywhere else.

Excellent location and price!

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, price, cleaniness- didn't expect daily service (except Sunday) but it was fabulous!
Cons: The septic tank wafts a bit- not sure if always does this or if it was just becasue our villa (Villa 5) was close to it.
Location: At the heart of Muri- LBV great cafe, down the road is THE BEST fish sandwich place The Mooring Place a must do. Or just enjoy the lagoon!
We had a one bedroom lagoon villa which was perfect for 2 adults and our six year old- (they put a fold out bed in the lounge for her). The location is fabulous- right on Muri lagoon and you can walk around to the 'main strip' of Muri by beach or along the road (2 mins).

Just what we were looking for.

This is not a 5 star luxury resort. This is self contained comfort in a beautiful location. We stayed in villa number 5 (1 bed with lagoon views) and it was great. Clean tidy and comfortable. (pillows were a little flat though) between the kitchen and the BBQ on the deck it was easy to look after ourselves when we wanted to. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance when we didn't want to. 2 minute walk to stores for supplies or 10 minutes by scooter to a 24 hr convenience store. We will be back!! Love RARO! :-)
