Loved it!

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything. Location, facilities, bungalows are beautiful. Loved the outdoor shower / bathroom.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Perfect location on the west side of the island, perfect for sunsets, lots of restaurants within walking distance and car hire place just a short walk
Stayed here for 5 nights. The bungalows are lovely and in a great position. Angela and Simon have put at lot into making the place extremely comfortable for guests and are the perfect hosts. The perfect spot for watching the sun go down with a glass of wine. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back if we revisited Rarotonga.

Great character accom right on the beach

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: Beach frontage, small and personal, proximity to great restaurants/ bars, very friendly owners and staff, lovely beach-style bungalows etc etc
Cons: New owners have great ideas for improvements but this is already very popular just as it is.
Location: On the west side of the island so great for sunsets. Just a car/ moped ride away from great snorkelling spots. Fab eateries/ bars close by
Wonderful stay here and just what we needed. We didn't want a big impersonal resort and this is a smaller place with just a few bungalows right on the beach. Very pretty space and close to some of the best restaurants on the island. Wonderfully friendly and helpful owners who made our stay extra special. Highly recommended :-)

Relax & Experience

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Everything about Magic Reef Bungalows is perfect for that getaway you need (without the kids)! The location is perfect, the bungalows are unique and cosy but not claustrophobic, they have all the amenities (in working order!) and the grounds are well manicured and maintained. The layout allows for all rooms to have an ocean aspect and privacy but the overall size of the resort is small enough retain convenience (meaning a quick dip in the pool requires no prior planning). The staff are what really make the place though as they are owner operators who are happy to be there, take pride in their business and are always helpful, friendly, polite and make you feel as welcome as possible. As far as pricing goes I've stayed in a multitude of accommodation varieties through work and leisure, domestic and internationally, whatever the rate was (obviously insignificant) was worth every cent! My only complaint would be that I had to leave...

Absolute perfect and private location, western (sunset) side of the island between Muri and town, superb bungalows, views and hosts that give you privacy if you want it and help if you need it. Several good restaurants/bars a short walk along the beach. Will definately be back.

Amazing Time At Magic Reef!

Posted 17-Jul-2014
My Wife and I went to Rarotonga for our Honeymoon and although the weather didn't quite cooperate we still had a fantastic time and it was in large part due to our resort! We had a great time relaxing in the bungalow and watching sunsets on the beach. With the kitchen in the bungalow and BBQ to use by the pool we found it hard to motivate ourselves to go out for dinner! The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful, they helped us to book the tours we wanted and helped us out greatly with an ordeal getting home (flight was over 9hrs delayed). Overall great place and would highly recommend :)

Great private quiet accommodation :D

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff, their willingness to accommodate to any needs without a problem The facilities and the fact is wasn't busy or loud!
Location: A few restaurants/bars are within walking distance - Waterline and Castaway are two which we walked to from the resort.
Time which me and my partner spent at Magic Reef Bungalows was highly enjoyable. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to a quiet place to stay as it is an adult only, no under 12 years allowed. Perfect for couples or a family with older children. Great for beach for watching sunsets while relaxing in the provided hammock or comfortable beach seats. White private sand beach excellent to relax in the sun. Although within saying that not the best location for snorkeling, but Rarotonga is so small a snorkeling spot is only a drive or bus trip away. Complementary snorkeling gear and reef shoes available for use. Staff and owners are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is a problem for them, very knowledgeable of best places to eat, snorkel and activities to do. Facilities are great. Room includes a small fridge and two elements to cook. Beautiful shower and bath which is outside, which is really cool. Pool is really cool and while we stayed you would have to yourself, no sharing needed! I would recommend this stay to anyone, made the trip that much more enjoyable.

Great spot for a honeymoon

Posted 19-Jun-2014
Pros: Staff, the closeness to the beach, the private outdoor shower/bath.
Cons: I believe an update of the bungalows is underway, which is perfect as some fixtures/furniture are a little outdated.
Location: Only a short walk/drive to some great places to eat. Rarotonga is so small, great fishing and divings spots are very close by.
After getting off the plane, all we wanted to do was relax and that's exactly what happened at Magic Reef. The staff were so friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, the beach literally at your doorstep. You get spectacular sunsets, you can barbeque your own meal on the deck with a drink or make a meal in your kitchen. Great spot for a honeymoon, would definitely go again!

Cosy Beachfront Bungalow

Posted 12-May-2014
Pros: I liked the quiet intimacy of the Bungalows, great place for a romantic getaway. The outdoor bathroom was a real highlight & the kitchenette was handy
Location: The Magic Reef is on the sunset side of the island. Heaps of places to eat. Short walk along the beach to good swimming and snorkel spots.
We had a lovely week at the Magic Reef Bungalow - great position right on the beach with front row seats for beautiful romantic sunsets and a short walk to top quality restaurants. The owners , Angela and Simon, and the staff are all incredibly friendly gorgeous people and will bend over backwards to make sure you are comfortable and all your needs are met, whether it's a lift somewhere, supplying snorkels and booties, or just getting you 'real' milk for your tea! We recommend hiring a car or a scooter so you can get around the island and find the good snorkelling spots and the food on the island is fantastic!
