Rude staff

Posted 16-Feb-2015
The front desk staff were rude. Check in time starts at 3 and our room wasn't ready until 5. They did nothing to make us feel comfortable, rather told us we should "walks around Cabela's for an hour or something".

Great place for a weekend getaway. Pool was a little chilly, but maintanience said something was wrong with the system. Others that were swimming had stayed several times before and said pool temp was usually bath water temp. We look forward to returning to see if it's warmer. Great breakfast items too.

Very good value for price.

Pros: Breakfast, kitchen in room. Comfortable furniture.
Cons: Provide a switch in the bathroom for the fan, so that it can be turned off. It was annoying that the bathroom fan is constantly running.
Location: right off the interstate, convenient.
Didn't even expect kitchen in room. Breakfast included was a good value. Pool open 24 hours! It was a great stay!

Our stay here was so nice that we came back for another night. Will not hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area. Everything was new and clean, full kitchen and breakfast was delicious!

Everything was great. The beds could have been a little less firm but thats just a matter of opinion. Everything else was perfect.

Not bad, but not outstanding

We are originally from Rapid City and now visit very often. We decided to give this hotel a try because it's new and the price was about $10 less per night compared to a newer hotel we usually frequent. The ac/heat unit in the room is the traditional (old school) wall unit under the window. It was pretty loud when it ran and seemed to have a hard time maintaining the room temp. It ran heat for a couple minutes, shut off for a couple minutes, then seemed to run cold air to try to balance out the temp. The bathroom was forever cold. So many of the rooms we've stayed in at other hotels seem to have thermostats now with more of a central air and heat running throughout the entire room. I know it may not seem like a big deal, and normally not something I'd care too much about, but the noise it made kicking on and off and the constant struggle to maintain the temp throughout the room was pretty annoying. It wasn't as if something was wrong with it, I just think it was a poor choice of unit to heat and cool a large suite. We could definitely hear the people above our room and the people next door to us our entire stay. The breakfast was alright - nothing overly special. The location is great. The staff was very friendly. For the little bit less in nightly price this room was compared to where we normally stay just down the road, we'll pay the extra to go somewhere else.
