“Not Too Fancy, But No Problms”

Nothing fancy at all about this hotel but great for spending a few days in Rapid City. Hotel has good location to get to the sights. Decent neighborhood on the edge of the city. Nice Black Hills Gold outlet practically across the street.

Must see

Crazy Horse is a must see no matter if you hear diiferently.

“Vacation stay”

Hotel was close to everything that we wanted on our vacation. The pool area is small but well kept. Breakfast area is bright and inviting - deck from the breakfast area was a nice addition. Good selection of breakfast items. Business area is open in the lobby area - so sound on the computer was difficult. Bed in the room was okay.

“Would stay again”

Great hotel, in the heart of Rapid City. Close to many restaurants and attractions. Would stay here again if traveling through Rapid City! Great breakfast too!

“would stay at again”

Everything at hotel was clean and staff was always helpful. hot breakfast was good, I will stay there again. Had wi-fi in room and the room was comfortable.

“Not impressed”

The hotel was clean but an older hotel. We were on the ground floor and you could easily hear any walking done on the second floor. The floors creaked like they were made of wood. Breakfast was pretty good. Overall, the age of the hotel made it one that I would not recomment.

Area recommendations

Mount Rushmore was the key reason for our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our visity. Custer State Park, the Badlands, Deadwood, Hill City were other places we visited while staying in Rapid City. Very convenient to all these attractions. Loved the Needles Highway. I had never seen any road like this.

“Holiday Inn Express - South; Rapid City - The place to stay!”

We stayed here as a jumping off point for a rental house in Hot Springs. After a long flight and a late arrival at the airport (11PM) , the hotel provided superb comfort and service. Their superb service included a terrific complementary breakfast - a response to Hampton In complementary breakfast perhaps?--but just as good. Everyone was helpful and friendly...and the price was great! I would certainly go back.

“Perfect location without surprises”

Just needed a place to stay the night before flying out early the next morning. Booked here because we are never disappointed with Holiday Inn Express. Close to well-known restaurants, gas stations & Catholic Cathedral. We had drinks at the end of the day on the nice outdoor patio at the hotel that overlooked Rapid City.

Getting around

Hotel is about 10.9 miles from Rapid City Regional Airport but was less than a 20 minute drive even from the middle of the city. Only two major roads to take from hotel to airport. Cross the street to major restaurant chain.
