“Johns Rapid City Holiday Inn Express Review”

They had great service at a reasonable amount. Along with clean and comfortable rooms.

“Well it was OK”

Like the title says it was ok. The hotel itself was nice, and the staff seem friendly. Upon entering our room we noticed it was a wheel chair accesible room, which means there is no tub just a roll/walk in shower not exactly handy when you you have a 2 year old child. So before the other 2 kids messed up the room I went and asked if there was another room available with a tub, No they were booked. We were staying for 5 nights so maybe later. My wife asked the desk the next day they were still full but they took our phone number and room number and would give it to the manager to see what they could do. Well I never received a call and we stayed in the room the full stay. DIDN'T THINK WE SHOULD HAVE TO ASK FOR A 3RD TIME!!! Also on one day we went and enjoyed the indoor pool upon returning to our room and showering to get ready for the night out our room had no clean towels!! A call to the desk and they said they "ran out" of clean towels!! this is 4:30 in the afternoon people, so my wife dried off with the hair drier needless to say she wasn't very happy. The breakfast is pretty good but sometimes you have to wait a bit for it to get restocked. There was a card in the bathroom stating that if there was something we were unhappy with that they would do there best to fix it or that part of your stay is free. Well with what we paid I know no part of it was free!!!!

Super Clean hotel! Bed was comfy pool & hot tub always a plus Close to highway resturants are close simple breakfast easy to find

“Traveler / Minneapolis”

Pictures looked great but when we arrived and got to our room I was disagree because my reservation was a SUITE and that's room was too small. The carpets were disgusting, and the entire room had a horrible smell. I called down to the front desk (the lady very rude) and was told because they were full I couldn't switch rooms. I called Expedia to cancel my reservations and lo and behold after a several mins on hold, them did nothing..that's was a bad experience.

“Excellent place to stay for vacation”

The hotel was very easy to find and plenty of places to eat around there. The hotel was very clean and quiet since it was off season for an October vacation. The room was very clean and a decent size. Nice flat screen LCD TV also. We stayed there for 3 nights. The breakfast was awesome for being included. This on had eggs, bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls and other continental type item. The pool was plenty large with 2 jacuzzi's. Overall, would stay there again.

“Central South Dakota”

Fabulous location, central to Mt Rushmore, Custer state Park and Badlands. Hotel not amazing, but perfectly comfortable and reaosnably priced for area. Right next to Outback and across road from other fast food joints.

“Booking through Expedia cost us a free night!!!”

I would have never wrote this review had it not been over 2 months now that I have been calling the hotel and leaving a message for the manager to call me back. During our stay our room was only cleaned one time in four days. I clean/pick up my house everyday (make beds, hang up towels, etc.) so I expect when I am traveling to have that same treatment. I am paying for those services. The excuse was they were short of help and hired a new cleaning crew. Well I understand that and things happen. But when I hear that they are giving people a free night because of the hassel then I expect to have the same thing. Some people told me it just happened one night to them. Us, on the other hand, our room was cleaned once during our whole stay. I am there on vacation, not to be my own maid. My main problem was not necessarily getting a free nights stay, I could have lived without it. My problem is that I have not been called back in two months. My in-laws stayed there too and had the same issue. When they complained they were told because we went through Expedia they would not refund us. I am sure they could have worked something out. I do have one more complaint. The pool and hot tubs were gross. I saw a family letting their kids swim naked and in underwear. I also saw another family letting their kid swim in a diaper. The diaper exploded with all these little ball things that were all over the pool. My kids couldn't swim after that...gross. They really need to work on cleanliness!!!

“Great location, breakfast area left bad impression”

Hotel was nice, carpets and furniture were a bit stained. Hotel staff was not as professional and did not offer any input/ advice regarding things to do in the area..simply pointed us to brochures. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was not as expected...would like hotels to issue a dress code that would not allow people to eat breakfast in bare feet and pajamas. And...hotel accepts pets so people actually had animals in the breakfast area, which was awful.

“awesome experience on an awesome trip”

we liked this hotel a lot. the pool was even clean. the staff courteous, rooms were comfortable and clean, the beds were comfortable, we only slept there 1 night but we had already stayed another night at a hotel in Sioux Falls the night before that was lousy and after a long day of driving and sight seeing we were tired. the environment there was excellent/relaxed. highly recommend this hotel.
