“Not worth the money”
Not worth the money. The service was lacking and hotel staff did not seem to be customer focus trained.
“Popular Hotel”
Hotel had nice ammenities and was priced well. Housekeeping did not service our room one of the nights and was not apologetic, but we were satisfied with everything else. Had several large functions going on during 3-night stay - clearly one of the only larger hotels in area, so occasionally noisy at night.
“As of 8-6-2011, their service can't be beat!!! Convenient and Comfortable too!!!”
My wife and I have stayed at quite a few hotels, including some with world famous status and insane parking fees just to be able to say you've stayed at a place that shares its name with a cracker. We have never had better service, from a more pleasant staff than we experienced when staying here. We had a few problems (no fault of the hotel) allowing us contact with several members of the staff. Each request or concern was handled promptly and with the most genuine kindness. We interacted with probably 50 different staff members, and whether at the front desk, on the maintenance or cleaning staff, working in the restaurant or bar, or just ones who happened to be sharing a ride with us on the elevator, consistently each was friendly and expressed that our best interest was what they were there to make happen. We didn't give the room the top score on comfort, only because it was furnished with a bed, one "comfy chair", and a desk area with one office style chair to sit in. A sofa or two chairs would have been nice. The location received a less than perfect score because I can almost guarantee someone from the street will ask you for some change if you walk outside during your stay. Some folks don't like that and I can understand. We felt, however, that we had been treated so well by the hotel staff that the only right thing to do was pay it forward. Ordering a box dinner from the bar and giving a guy 20 bucks to make it through the night was one of the highlights of our trip.
“Great hotel and location!”
Staff was very nice !! Lady in charge of breakfast from NJ was very nice and helpful!
“One of the most pleasant hotel stays in a long time.”
I spent two nights at the hotel with my family to attend a family reunion. The room was very nice indeed although I'm usually the type that prefers more space over granite bathrooms. The amenities were first rate. The quality of the food in the restaurant was superb. The nicest filet Mignon with red wine reduction I've had in ages. It's rather surprising that in these times this hotel charges for daily internet access. I'm so used to it being free. No golf channel available on TV either - tragedy! The hotel has lots of conference space so one could easily find oneself having to deal with the 'conference' crowds. The indoor pool and spa were great and much enjoyed by the children. An added bonus was the Starbucks in the lobby. The bed linen was lovely and crisp each day. The A/C was nice and unobtrusive. A lot nicer than one of those "in the window" sorts. Car parking and valet parking are both extra and charged daily. As we'll be making many more trips to Raleigh we fully intend to make this our default hotel choice. Fayetteville Street has changed radically in the 10 years since I was last there. It has been completely revamped with plenty of cafes and restaurants with on-street seating. Had a fun ride on one of the many rickshaws. Lots of other on-street entertainment at night - bands etc. Our kids loved it and are still talking about it!
“At the Center of the Action”
The Marriot in Raleigh was extremely nice. It was very comfortable and modern. The ammenities were great, especially the indoor pool & hot tub, and the work-out room. It was also walking distance from all kinds of fun in downtown Raleigh.
“Would definitely return!”
We were in Raleigh to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and we had to attend a federal court proceeding (hence the choice of location). The hotel was a very nice reprieve for us, since we are both self-employed and needed to get away from business at the beach. Everything was wonderful.
“WWW2010”
All attendees (3 total) were extremely satisfied with lodging.
“Nice Hotel.”
No complaints. As advertised.
“In Raleigh for concert”
We were in Raleigh for a concert. What we look for first in a hotel is a nice comfortable bed and comfy thick pillows. They get an A+. Secondly, a nice shower head in the bathroom. It was pretty good, no complaints. And everything was clean. The bar downstairs was great also. We had some nice drinks and appetizers. Nice staff, though it's too bad the valet is inefficient because the valet area is too small when there is a large quantity of cars. There was a long line to get parked and get into the hotel. Hopefully they'll work that out.
